What do you guys think of the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 680 WindForce 5x SOC

You can overvolt a soc with the artmoney hack, will more likely give you higher clocks then any stock locked card.

How would I do this pgi947. Teach me good sir:D

I thought Lightnings were the only ones to have this ability with the LN2 BIOS but not looked into it.

The Gigabyte soc has the same bios:)

I'm far from rich:(

Then why are you considering taking a hit on selling your 680 and buying another 680? The cost of this is the difference between what you get for your current 680 and the Gigabyte SOC which is likely to be in excess of £100 for 2-5% performance at the very most IF you get a good overclocker.

You'll need the release bios, afterburner 2.2.0 (I think), artmoney and the hack guide on ocn, iirc the guy who posted the guide (which as gregster pointed out works for the lightning too!) Managed something like 1.5v, I'd give it some water for volts that high though ;)

I did consider a soc when I found out ek were making blocks for them. A very under rated card imo.

I wont go that high. Thanks mate:)

I really think this is a dumb idea! No offence but its just pointless.

If your gonna swap around then atleast try a 7970 or even a titan! No difference swapping 680s for 100mhz on the clock which you can get anyways :/

Np, choosing this over a locked card is probably only a good idea if you like to bench though. Gk104 seems to handle high volts and punishment a lot better then tahiti. 8 pack recently took a 680 lightning in excess of 2000mhz core!!

Edit: agree with hamish on this one, wait a few weeks see how titan turns out :)

The titan is way to much money for my blood.

I can't get this card now anyways....It's so huge it's gonna bump into both my HDD cages. I checked:( I could mod my case to take it, but don't want to bother really. Unless I can't find anything else I really like?? So I'm gonna get another GPU in stead. I'll make a decision on which one tomorrow.

Sell the 680 you have an explore life with a 7950? Heck you could buy a pair of them for the cost of the SOC.

Or keep the 680 you have an look to expand in other areas? Water? Big SSD?

I thought about that, but can't be bothered really. I saw a few AMD cards I like.

HIS gzh card or Sapphire HD 7970 VAPOR-X GHZ.
