Hi all,

Can I have some likely candidates to possibly take a look at my CV just to see if I have missed or incorrectly done something, or could change something?

If you are willing, reply to this thread and I will trust you a link to the CV in pdf form if you have adobe reader, if not let me know and use another format.

Hopefully should be ready shortly.

Thanks :)

Should be done shortly, there is a bit more to put on there that the last time which was over 5 years ago I guess, I just want to check to see if there are any thing I could word better, position better, any obvious mistakes and try and make it easy to read and the eye.

Will let you know once I am done.

Will send it over in word document format for highlighting

OK I have trusted you a link to the .doc file, as I said there is still a few little bits to tidy up but if you could see anything a miss let me know

I have left my email on cv so you can send it back if you want, address and phone number I have removed for now.

IT related yes

No harm in just posting it, but feel free to send to me if you really want to keep it private. If I don't respond it's because nothing was wrong with it imo. :p

• Preparation and Migration of client in-house servers to hosted data centre
• Analysis, Installation and testing of WAN/LAN equipment at client premises

Any reason 'Migration' and 'Installation' are proper nouns?

Just saw the above, I'll keep the rest via email :)

Don't worry post it in thread actually thinking about it, make it quicker :)

I will change the cases

Argh you have made me gone grammar nazi posting in these threads :p

General stuff:
Under employment history, you sometimes use full stops, other times you don't.
There seem to be random capital letters sometimes placed
Overall, the full stops are a little inconsistent. You can use them all the time, or you can choose not to use them on the bullet pointed sections.

I'll email you back what I believe to be the corrected grammar, do forgive me if the IT terms have confused me, causing me to put something down wrongly :p

Thanks all :) also received mail thank you

Taken on board and will edit where necessary

Much appreciated

It's pretty decent, I'd probably give you an interview. That said, if you can get those skills down to 1-2 words like:

Cisco Blah
SonicWall UTM Firewalls
Virtualisation (ESXi, Hyper-V)
RADIUS and IP Administration
WAN Connectivity

I sure I murdered those terms, but you get the point. The reason for this is once I've read so many CV's, I get bored and really want to give me a quick reason to read further more than anything.

Also I really couldn't care less about your hobbies or what modules you did or your GCSE. Keep it there if you need to fill two pages, but if you can expand the work history drop it besides where, when, grade.

P.S I got a bounce message from the email you sent me. :)

k

First impression

I didn't read your personal statement nor your skills matrix and went straight to your latest employment. I then cross referenced your matrix with what you did at work to find some duplication and tried to establish how strong your skills really are based on where you've applied them

Since you have only 2 major employers I would remove and break the skills matrix into each of the roles explaining how and why?! you used them, also you were there a long time so some sort of major accomplishments should be highlighted - LIE OR BIG UP if you have to :D Highlight some chronology building up to goals

Who's the client / what type of role are you going for.

I also thought that ITIL would be a must/nice have in your field ?

Yep but I found the uni modules interesting

As someone who understands all of those skills, I would keep them more or less as they are.

I understand the skills, I just don't know how to type them in a better shorthanded way.

End of the day I expect you to put how you applied those skills in your work history, where as you wouldn't even get your CV to me without having buzzwords pass HR / recruitment people.
