*** The Official Nokia Lumia 620 Thread ***

That is a very good review. I'm actually considering swapping from my 820 to a 620 because I love how it feels in the hand, nice and small and light.

Just ordered online, tried to purchase in store but they wanted a top-up.

I have an O2 contract but instore they still wanted me to top-up so slightly cheaper online with cashback.

Store model was stuttering when scrolling which was weird, but I'm sure its just a bug that will be fixed.

Hmm, tough one to call... I've just seen the Lumia 610 on a website for £45 delivered so if that deal gets honored, I'll stick with the 610, but if it doesn't I'll go for the 620 I think.

The stuttering really does worry me though, was it bad?

If reviews are raving about the speed, I think it must have been a one off. But compared to my Lumia 800 it was noticeably slower.

I still ordered one, as Windows Phone is very smooth normally.

The battery life in this phone seems very impressive, I've set a few options in settings to off -- NFC, Bluetooth, data connection (while im at home using wifi), screen 1 min then off, medium brightness. I've not turned on battery saver option either.
Does anyone know off any other tips to save on battery on their Lumia?
I cant see any issue with the scrolling delay, although I do not have another Lumia to compare with. Seems perfectly fine to me.

The 620's way better than I expected, I'm chuffed I waited for this now.

you can claim a free shell AFTER 7 days of the purchase:

you need the free shell leaflet O2 provide you with when you buy, as it has a unique code on it.

Did you notice any problems with the scrolling lag?

Cheers

Hi Tom
just scrolled up &down quickly and on the settings area where the page is large so you need to scroll loads, I cant see any laggness what so ever. Moves perfectly smooth - doesn't stutter. just get it!

I already ordered a 610 instead! But I'm sure I could find another home for it haha.

I'm just worried because POB states the model in the 02 store was really laggy. :/

got mine from O2, I cant see laggyness, and I'm quiet anal about that sort of thing (ever since days of seeing how smooth parallax scrolling was on arcade conversions like shinobi or ghouls n ghosts!!)

It was but I'm sure there was something wrong with it. I still ordered one as I know Windows Phone is not like that.

I think I have seen one other video on YouTube with the stuttering but all the main reviews none of them exhibit the issue.

I'm just really anal, as everyone knows on here lol. I don't even use my GS3 much anymore because of the amount of little niggles I've noticed with it! So the Lumia 620 having awkward scrolling would surely drive me insane.

With the model you saw at the 02 store, was it like the above link I posted or much worse?

Cheers

If it was a normal charismatic of the phone Engadget would have picked up on it, they have tested older phones.

Windows Phone works extremely smoothly. Buy it 100%.

Nokia make quality hardware.

Much like you I see anytime an animation isn't fully smooth and it makes me sad. :p

To be fair I was a little concerned with slight animation lag on an iPhone 5 when there was a full screen of icons. In the Apple Store the models I saw weren't fully smooth in the opening and closing app animations. My personal iPhone is perfect in that department, so the lesson is never think too much about in store models - God knows what they've been put through.

From what I've seen from various Windows Phone models over the months they are all on par with Apple in this department. So if Apple ever fell over I'd have a nice 60fps animating OS to switch to. :p

I think I may just wait for the 610 to arrive and see if it's capable enough for my needs. Really is a shame Skype doesn't work with it though otherwise it'd be perfect. Will have to convince my girlfriend to start using Tango instead!
