i got letter telling me my tax code is changed.

it says you could get about xxxx amount in month before your employer deduct tax.

for example if the amount of allowance is £1000 per month, and i earn £1100 for a month. would the £100 extra liable for tax or all of the £1100.

Your '1000' personal allowance is the amount not susceptible to tax, it's ususally in the region of £8100. Your earnings, once the allowance is subtracted, will be taxed.

Also have a wander around this. Gives more detail.

In this case, only the £100 "extra" would be liable for tax.

if my personal allowance is 11000 for the year, that is £916 per month before tax is deducted. and i earned £1016 for that month, what would get tax?

Nothing to apologise for. I have just in the last few days been asking my family the very same questions!
