Either way, I still feel MP is just a marketing hype. I mean who really needs 41mp xD

Even D800's are only 36. I doubt you'd ever be able to print the image at it's full 41mp resolution and get a decent picture to stick on a wall (presuming you're not compressing, and are actually printing it at 10000x10000 (or whatever 41mp is)

It isn't 41MP in the traditional sense, it's so things like the zoom features actually work properly without proper optical zoom.

It is a startling number in a marketing sense, but it's not a case of a naff sensor being made to sound better than it is. Most of the shots are around 5-8MP in size.

Real extravagance here so I can use windows on my mac mini properly (the bluetooth performance is dismal and I have no idea why but only in w7)

I quite agree. I have a lovely Filco with blue switches at home. The cheap and cheerful Logitech I have with my work PC is just awful in comparison.

I'm seriously considering spending another £120 getting the same Filco for work. :p

Ha! I had thought of doing that too, but I doubt I'd make it a day without a colleague killing me over the noise it makes!

For your 17-40 right? Which you've had for a while, what made you decide to get one now?

Snow, -20 degrees, snowmobiles... Up until now I've not needed the use of one. I will though at least a couple of times this year so it's about time one was bought :D
