Now you could just tell me to "do your own homework". Although this is to do with an assignment I'm currently working on it's far from homework and it is not the full answer to an assignment question I am seeking. If anything I'm just bouncing an idea off people - so, those of you in the know who fancy answering a question:

I am attempting to work out Cost Of Goods Sold without information on opening inventories for a particular company.
I do however have information on the Revenue and the Gross Profit of this company.
As it's safe to say:

Revenue
Minus Cost of goods sold
Equals Gross Profit

Am I safe to also say

Revenue
Minus Gross Profit
Equals Cost of Goods sold

Cheers people.

yes you are correct

EDIT: also wanted to say, accounting books in business mng studies are the most retarded literature out there.

grab a few company 10Q and learn from there, the books will only confuse you more.

google for equity research analyst reports (or xls models, if you can find them) and everything will click together.
