Ok guys, just to confirm i got this card today. It IS 8pins + 6 Pins and DOES use a reference 7970 PCB.
Just took off the Twin Frozr cooler and plate and glad to see a 7970 pcb. Hopefully get a good over clock out of it once i get my rig up and running.
All i got to do now is find myself a decent water block.

They keep my cards @ or around 50 deg no matter how hard I push them

And just to confirm they cool everything that needs cooling - GPU, RAM and VRM's? Its either Heatkiller Or XSPC Raystorm for me.

curious to know, did you get the heatkiller and did you fit it ok ? I am just looking for proper hands on confirmaiton that this really is on a 7970 reference PCB as I have got one myself and I am strugling to get a waterblock currently

No, i have not purchased any water blocks yet as I'm a little busy for one, and two undecided on a case. However, its looking more likely that i will go with the EK CSQ 7970 blocks rather than the heatkillers.

I can confirm this twin frozr v2 is on the 7970 pcb. the pic below is MY 7950 twin frozr v2, cooler and plate removed. As you can see it is a 7970 pcb. hope that helps.
