How awesome is your home town???

Mine is this awesome...:cool::rolleyes:

Yet another reason to love the County town of Kent...

I guess a better thread title would have been "Ever wish your home town could be turned to rubble???

Anyone elses home town done anything similar/as awesome...

they did the dance wrong

My town of birth is awful. Stevenage can **** off.

My choice of home town would be Norwich, as it's where I've spent most of my life. And Norwich really is an amazing place :D

My home town is so awesome that it's the UK City of culture :D

And mine's the European City of Culture.....from 2008 admittedly ;)

I went back to Liverpool with the GF (a Spurs supporting Londoner) who had never been there, three weeks a go, and to say we were both very happily surprised would be a massive understatement.

We stayed near the Albert dock (above) and it was fantastic as were the restaurants there. The area around Anfield is still a ****hole mind but the Tour with Phil Thompson was superb and had us all in stitches with his stories. Fingers crossed that the redevelopment of the area and the ground finally goes ahead.

Everyone seemed so much more upbeat than I ever recall as a lad and "L1" shopping area looks like it was actually designed by someone with flair, god forbid. The same goes for what we thought were going to be cheesy tourist places.

I didn't even get my head kicked in for having a dodgy accent..in fact I didn't even see or hear of a single problem of any description at all while we were there. From my short stay there I couldn't fault it...and the GF watches Liverpool on the box now too!

Born and raised in Slough, so couldnt get much worse really. We have a lot of very lovely immigrants (not being sarcastic, most of them are genuinely nice), but what i dont like is the ginormous chav infestation. there's also bugger all to do at slough

The only good things to come out of slough were Thunderbirds and Jimmy Carr. the only cool thing thats happened recently is this:

I've really moved up in the world now that i'm at Reading

My home town is Uckfield. Not really much to do there, it is mainly a residential place with a small high street and a lot of schools. A nice woodland to play in as well at Buxted Park. Was ok all in all.

Have lived in Eastbourne for about 8 years now, there are things to do for kids & adults, countryside all around, shopping areas, a difference in residential areas, I live in the Harbour where it is all modern builds, but have lived in Meads which is all lovely old buildings, then there is the council estates and such. Generally, it is a good place to live.

my home town is a ex mining village/town and with a new rail and tram line, out of town drug drop in centers for townies and new place to come and rob as they jump of the train and tram from town etc

Urban sprawl at it's worst, used to be nice and friendly, now a dump and full of druggies/ muggers and thiefs and people from elsewhere and abroad, used to be all white if you forget the pun but now it's spot the man with his pant's on his bottom and not hanging on the floor, i'm not racist either, i hate anyone who is an idiot no matter matter what colour they are, how they speak / lanuage etc and what ever they wear, drug users just need shooting full stop, no cries would be shed where i live for the death of a few or all of them in one night of mass bad drugs deaths :(

sorry rant over, guess it's happening everywhere else as well, shame really

no pictures of parks or name of the place either from me as i'm ashamed to say i live there and tell everyone i live elsewhere, but all my family and friends live in the same place / area so it's hard to leave them all, but i'm guessing it won't be long before we do.

My hometown is great, Belfast, can be a real riot at times. :p The people are blessed with a terrible accent, well the inner city folks are, seems to wear off the further you get from it. Enjoyed growing up in it, wouldn't change a thing although when I think of some of the stuff that happened when I was a kid, it seems a million miles away now. I'm glad my kid isn't growing up there now though.

I try and like my town Barnsley, but its hard when it seems to be 99% unemployed benefit grabbers who have no intention of looking for work. The sort that spend all their money on alcohol, and end up waking you up at 3am fighting in the street.

Yeah I love barnsley.

Some more for Hartlepool:

We have a lot of industrial waste ground in Hartlepool. This is steetley magnesite.

The first photo is not mine but I took photo 2 & 3 - a settling tank and the chimney which is no longer there (blown up last summer).

Muse actually filmed a music video here too: Muse - 2nd Law: Isolated System.
