I just got fined £60 from the police for not having a seat belt in the rear passanger seat. Which i think its a joke do use recomend i pay the fine or just ignore it

Could you clarify what you mean by not having a seat belt in the rear passenger seat... Do you mean there physically is no seatbelt available for the back passenger seat or there was someone in the back seat of your car with no seatbelt on?

I was in the backseat of the car and they fined me for not having it on

I thought the onus was on the driver to ensure passengers were wearing their seatbelt?

Either way, you're a moron for not wearing it.

not if the passenger is 14 or older

Q. It was a passenger that committed the offence, is that my responsibility?
A. The driver of the vehicle is responsible for ensuring that suitable safety restraints are worn by all passengers under 14 years old. Passengers 14 years and over are responsible for wearing their own seat belt, if available.

Driver is only responsible for kids if an adult wants to be totally irresponsible and not wear a seatbelt they get fined.

Pay the fine and next time try rub two brain cells together to put the seatbelt on.

Pay the fine and wear a belt next time. Driver is a nub too, I won't even set off until everyone is wearing a belt, regardless of their age. Last thing I want in the event of an accident is a rear passenger flying past, or worse into, me.
