Okay then smart guy. Please educate me as to why a bit of glass that simply protects a lens without affecting image quality costs SEVENTY pounds. :o

the same reason a lens costing several thousand pounds has a better image quality than a lens costing several hundred pounds. less imperfections in the glass costing more to produce. aint rocket science you know :rolleyes:

Are you one of these people who buys the cheapest version of everything and then harps on about how it's as good as the more expensive ones (when 99 times out of 100 it isn't)? :(

Because some of these people earn hundreds/thousands on shoots a day and need to capture important images, having that can save your lens and you can keep shooting rather than smashing a front element and being stuck. Cheap UV filters and cheap clear filters can impact image quality and can cause strange artefacts and reflections.
 
They think they are being all arty. Sad really...

I think it is very artistic and professional. I think all DSR Cameras should come with blur on the edge of lens and also include instagram Filters ;)
