Help please: New Build powers up but no display

Hi, Basically putting together a new pc today, everything appears to power up, fans spin on everything, can hear the hard drive spinning up etc but we can get no video output at all. Helpfully the case doesn't seem to have a speaker so we're hearing no beeps anyway...so no idea if it is actually booting up or just powered.

Have tried with the graphics card and without, two different monitors, different cables, used the slots on the graphics card and the mb. About to try it with a graphics card we know works in other machines.

Spec:
Asus P8Z77-V LX Intel Z77
Intel Core i5 3750k
Gigabyte 7950
Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
hard drive
Optical drive
Antec p183 v3 case

So yeah, any ideas? faulty motherboard perhaps?

Are there any red lights visible on the mobo when you power up?
Is the Cpu 6/8 pin connector in or properly inserted.

No, only the green led at the bottom of the board is on.

Yes that is connected.

Is the ram in the correct slots, and all motherboard stand offs screwed in properly?

Have now had a go out of the case, no difference. Will try it with a PSU I know works tomorrow I guess to eliminate that.

The one I was trying is a Corsair TX650M, new unused, sorry forgot to include that in initial post...
