New 7870 & PC wont boot, help please :)

I took delivery of a Club 3d 7870 Joker graphics card today, installed it in my machine and it will not post. The fan on the card spins up but the computer will not boot but will boot fine with my old cards installed (2 x 5770). Is there anything obvious I should try before sending it back?

Specs

i5 2500k
MSI P67A-G45 (B3) motherboard
Antec 620w High Current Gamer PSU
X-Fi Fatality Sound Card
1gb HDD
120GB SSD

I was reading something about PCI version 2 & 3 and was wondering if that would have something to do with it not starting?

Any help gratefully received, am hoping it's just something simple.

Have you tried it in another pc ? and updated you motherboard to the latest bios?

Am just about to update the bios now. I haven't got another pc to try it in unfortunately.

Shame you don't have another pc to try it in could rule out a faulty card but try the bios update anyway

Definitely have the pcie power plugged into the card? Easy to forget.
Tried a diff output? Are there any post beeps? (may need to attch case speaker)

Had it all plugged in correct, it was the bios. I have updated it and it boot's fine now so happy days

Seems not such happy days after all Played fine in BF3, Skyrim and Project Cars. I played a bit of Crysis 2 and noticed some artifacts and flickering, then tried the Metro 2033 bench and it was a lot worse..

Have a new one being despatched for arrival on Monday, but still a bit disappointing.

Looks like the memory is borked have you tried down clocking the memory just to test if it artifacts go away ?

No mate, I haven't touched anything I just put it back in the box and will try again with the new one.

It started getting worse and happened in BF3 which I had already tested earlier and it was running fine on ultra for about 10 mins. Booted it back up and this was the result!

Also F1 2011, Dirt 3 & project cars all flashing and going nuts.

Yeah looks like the memory is knackered
