Im going to get a cpu soon and wanted to know which ones best the 2500k or the 3570k,i know their both good but i want to know the best for overclocking and gaming
Thanks
Josh

Any reasons why?

It's newer, slightly faster and supports PCIE 3.0. Why would you pick it's older generation? (which the 3570K is replacing)

I never had a 2500K but my 3570K overclocks fairly well. I got to 4.6GHz easily and while 4.7 is a bit more of a challenge, I have no doubts that it could do it and go further. Well, the one I got at least.

go for ivy 3570k

there isnt a lot of difference in speed (not enough difference to go from 2500k to 3570k anyway) but you may aswell get the newer one. just make sure you get a good cooler

For water cooling 2500k
For Air 3570k

I had both on my Maximus V gene on same cooling. And well..... I could not pass 4.4 oc on my sandy due to core temperatures....... Where i run 5ghz sandy at 70c max on prime.
Ivy is just hit and miss. Or you get good clocker that can hit 4.6+ or you get **** like i had that would not pass 4.3 do to bad TIM inside cpu itself.... And you cant do nothing about it. That is if you dont want to cut your cpu open and replace TIM inside with good one.....
And if you dont have Dual gpu pci 3.0 gives you 0-1 fps more. WOW.

So i sold that ivy off and went back to sandy.
