Hey there,

I'm looking to upgrade my system in the next few weeks, but with Bioshock and Tomb Raider being offered with these cards now I thought I'd buy my card and PSU now, and get my CPU/MOBO/RAM in a few weeks when I get paid.

I was just wondering if the 7870 is worth the extra £30 or so pounds over the 7850 (Both Core edition)?

I'll be playing all sorts of stuff (BF3/Starcraft/D3/FFXIV/Witcher 2/Bioshock Infinite/Tomb raider) and new releases etc, but I'm not really interested in bench marking stuff to see if this or that gets 8fps more, I just want to play on high settings. Wondering if I should just get rid of my Xbox before these new consoles are announced.

Anyways, Gonna get an i5-3570k, Asus P8Z77-V LX and 8Gb of Ram in a few weeks, just so you have an idea of what the card will be running with. I know this is the GPU section but I'm undecided on the PSU too, was looking at the TX650M, but I'm not sure what the difference is between that and the TX650 lol.

Any help would be much appreciated!

If you use your Xbox a lot then just hang on to it, even though the next gen consoles are due to be announced (PS4 on 20th Feb) we wont actually see them released in Europe until 2014.

I don't really want to spend £200 :( £170 was pushing it a bit for me. That's why is was just looking at the XFX 7850 or XFX 7870.
