They only found Richard III by luck.

There was absolutely no luck involved. It was down to years of very careful research. When digging started, it only took a matter of days to find what they were looking for. In fact, it is one of the best researched and organized archaeological digs undertaken in the UK.

Why does this matter? They are all dead. Does this not break religious traditions?

Because it's interesting and it gives people a reason to learn some history on said dug up body that they perhaps wouldn't have otherwise.

So pillaging a grave is interesting? the guy was at rest and at peace next to the bosom of Jesus Christ our saviour, now he has been dug up and fondled. This is good?

I don't quite know about that, if the channel 4 program was anything to go by, they lucked into where the bones were, on day 1 of the dig, based on a 'mysterious' R that was painted on the tarmac, and the gut feeling of the woman that arranged it all.

We have King Henry I buried in the old Reading Abbey, which are now just ruins. They believe the altar at which he is buried, is under Forbury Nursery.

Been talks of finding him as apparently the Americans love this stuff and it would a be big tourist draw.

I'm all for locating Alfred if we can. You never know, finding him may lead us to more clues about the past as well.

I have a feeling 'he' didn't notice.
