LOL @ Bing

Does look like a random outpost.

Don't know what the big deal would be though. Attacks or something?

Hmm, it is really in the middle of nowhere.

The fact that it doesn't appear on Google does hint that it's inclusion is a mistake.

If you put the same Co-Ordinates into Google maps it says it is "Umm Al Melh Border Guards Airport"

https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=19...896,50.125208&sspn=0.035644,0.066047&t=h&z=14

Google maps lists it as Umm Al Melh Border Guards Airport

https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=19...82,-2.327815&sspn=10.959602,28.54248&t=h&z=14

edit: beaten like a ginger step child!

Nothing on high res at all. Internet search for the airport cedes nothing.

Now I see the LOL, the lol at the stupid Internet.
So secret the company who built it advertised the signing of the contract.

With reference to the earlier announcement of 06/09/1432H corresponding to 06/08/2011G, Abdullah A. M. Al-Khodari Sons Company announces the completion of the signing of a contract with the Ministry of Interior (Border Guard) for the construction of the second phase of Border Guard Airport in Umm Almelh (South of the Kingdom Empty Quarter) within a period of 720 days from the date of contract signing on 23/08/2011. The contract is valued at SAR 120,665,267 as per the contract copy which was received by the company on 19/09/2011. The financial impact of this project is expected to be in the fourth quarter of the current financial year. [This suggests the airport is to be completed by August 2013.]

You've missed the point a bit... the secrecy isn't surrounding the fact that a air station exists there but rather the fact the US are using it and the the fact drones are present.

Google has not displayed it, bing has... someone has made a mistake there....

It's a drone base. It's not secrecy at all.

And you've missed what loads of sites are saying on the net.

There's ZERO evidence tha us use it.

The whole premise of this thread, is that it's a secret us base.
It's not secret, it's not us.

Google and bing maps do not use same images.

There are many places throughout the world that just don't have high res photos, are they all removed as well, for some secrecy thing?

Did you even read the link?
These satellite images show a remote airstrip deep in the desert of Saudi Arabia. It may or may not be the secret U.S. drone base revealed by reporters earlier this week. But the base’s hangars bear a remarkable resemblance to similar structures found on other American drone outposts. And its remote location — dozens of miles from the nearest highway, and farther still to the nearest town – suggests that this may be more than the average civilian airstrip.

So no, LoL at the Internet remain.

No I'm just pointing out to you why there has likely been a mistake here. You've posted a link to a construction firm that built the base... that misses the point somewhat.

edit - in response to your edit... that is the point - the likelihood that it is the airbase being used by the US for drones... that's the part that would mean a mistake had been made, not the fact that an airbase is there... the construction firm posting their project on their website is irrelevant.

No it doesn't at all. You have made it up or assumed and not read the link.

There is ZERO evidence of us involvement.

So you are the one who has missed the point.

Not at all... though you seem to have completely misunderstood what I was getting at - I posted in response to the below...

Pointing out to you that that somewhat misses the point - the fact that an airbase exists is irrelevant... the construction firm can post all it wants on the website - it doesn't mention the US or drones at all, doesn't compromise anything

There is ZERO evidence of us involvement.

erm - no there is evidence that suggests it might well be... this is the basis for the story in the first place....
