Giving up caffeine

depending how much caffeine your downing i wouldnt go cold turkey, i did and i was physically ill for a week.

as for tips, learn to love water. tap water no need for bottled water unless your in the 3rd world.

It's hell, 3 days off massive headaches that pills will not touch.

Why did I start drinking coke again after 3months off.

Pretty much no help, you just have to do it and be miserable for several days.

Iced tea is awesome, but just as bad as fizzy drinks from a Heath point. Just as much sugar or sweater in it.

You don't have to have sugar in it, it's not essential. Long brew time in the fridge with fresh cold water can be great.

Needs to be good tea though, not tetley or pg tips. Something from Waterloo Tea or Postcard Teas is more likely to be good at being a cold brew.

It tastes horribable though.
Tried home brewing stuff, but you need sugar.

However if you care to post a recipe and tea type ill try it.

I'll have a think and see if I can remember any from the 2 hours of summer we had last year. :D

Waterloo tea's Meghalaya Autumn, LaKyrsiew is probably the best tea I've ever drank. It's quite sweet on it's own. I tend not to have milk with tea, and it's best not to with this one.

Try following the brew guide *Waterloo tea's provide brew guides on all their teas - 1g tea per 100g water @ 95°C for 3 minutes for this one* into a glass, and then once the time is up, dunk the entire glass into iced water to cool it rapidly.

The different methods of producing a cold brew do produce distinctly different flavours. A long brew in cold water produces imo, the better drink, but is significantly harder to actually get right.

It's annoying how addictive caffeine is, I can't function without a cup of tea in the morning and a few throughout the day.

The other week I was working and had a Relentless every lunchtime because I was knackered from our baby waking in the night and I felt awful for days afterwards.

Depends where you live. Tap water here is nice, theres a few other places I've been to in this country it tasted awfull (in and around Oxford was the worst tasting water I've had)

Tap water tastes crap with the amount of chlorine in it.

The chemical taste goes if you let the water stand - a jug full in the fridge is ideal.

I stopped taking all caffeine drinks for about 6 months, didn't have any problems with it, no cravings. I drank boiling water with a slice of lemon and ginger in it, very refreshing and good for the system.

I recently cut down on my caffeine intake as it was getting silly (Shift Worker)

Just have one freshly brewed coffee when I get up now and that's it. If I feel the urge in the day, I usually just brew a caffeine free coffee which seems to work
