Enlighten me then. What else can it detect?
Noise. After all it's just a microphone.
It will detect harmless pre ignition so I'd be inclined to disagree with it being too late if the engine is knocking.

I love how the OP has just thrown his toys out and vanished![]()
As soon as anyone questions the ops reasons for owning a performance car on a tiny island with a blanket 30 limit he gets very stroppy and throws his toys.
Devil's advocate: lots of people made zero attempt to answer the OP's question, which can be quite frustrating.
On the other hand, it's an S2000, not a race-tuned touring car.

Obviously for the OP, buying booster all the time would be far too expensive. Maybe get a crapbox of a car to use on the island and then bring out the S2000 whenever you go to the mainland? And keep a couple of petrol containers of SUL to the side in case you ever need to bring the fuel level up a bit before you set off anywhere in the S2K.
He did say he didn't want to be driving a peasents car in his hilolrious strop.
Another question
What's "harmless" pre-ignition? And what's the difference between it and normal pre-ignition?
Not taking the mick or anything. Just interested.![]()
Pm isn't enabled on these forums, you can click the ops trust and send him a email though.
Nice car, I'm sure if enough of you got together something could be sorted.
