Hey Chaps,

I'm off to NYC on the 21st for 7 nights and wondered if anyone had any recommendations?

Looking to see Book of Mormon on broadway, check out the Empire State building, Times square, go shopping and hit Soho for 2/3 nights.

Please note I avoid gluten so most OMG FOOD places will be off the agenda. aka pizza, burgers, pasta etc

Thanks in advance! :)

Anyone? Would be great to get some advice on where to go to party at night with a young crowd. I'm 23 btw.

I've bought a 7 day New York Pass for $200 which gets me into all of the attractions for free.

If I go back to New York, a club I'd be 'hitting up' would be Pacha 100%. Heard it's mental.

Brooklyn Brewery tour is quite good. Bookable online.

It's just a quick once over with some history about the place and some tasting. Free glass at the end of the tour as well.

Skip the Empire State and go to up The Rock (Rockefeller Center) instead, less crowded and cooler views including of the Central Park and the Empire State itself.

Agreed we went up the Rockefeller, glad we did after reading about the waiting times for the empire building online.
Also don't you want to see the empire building from the outside.

My sister got back from NYC this morning and when she went to the Empire State yesterday she said the queues weren't too bad. I have been up both the Empire State and the Rockefeller tower and would personally go with the latter if you only choose one.

Take a quick look in Grand central station if nearby, incredible huge place with plush leather seats in some areas & shoeshine boys who put you up high so they clean your shoes at arms level,
Try & find one of the 1930's era autoparking garages where the cars go in to a huge rusting metal container which goes up several floors to be remotely shunted along rails into it's place, as I recall each car has it's own box & stays in it till recalled, the one we saw was when we were in the Marriot Marquis hotel on Broadway, 38th floor & I could look down & watch it loading the cars

You might want to narrow that down ;)

The tourist attractions are all sorted, so what else are you looking for - bars, restaurants, anything else notable?

Cocktail bars worth doing:

PDT (you must reserve on the day)
Death & Co.

Restaurants:

Peter Luger Steak House in Brooklyn (cash only - best steak ever)
Gramercy Tavern - nice place, with both a relaxed and formal area

Have you booked a hotel yet?

Definitely wanna go to the Peter Luger steak house! Thanks for the reminder.

Just wanna have a good crack tbh and the more suggestions the better. Wonder if there is anywhere to watch the Oscars with other people :)

Yes, the hotel is booked - staying here http://www.excelsiorhotelny.com/

Do you have a Google account? I have a 'trolling NYC' map from when I went last June I can share, with a bunch of bars and sights on that could be worth checking out.

I have a g-mail if that works? I'll PM you now.

I did some club research last night :)
