Dunno what to make of it, supposedly the photo's are all available to view on the NASA website.

I would guess at natural too. Anyway, they send probes to the most interesting parts that they want to know about. Its entirely possible it would be in the same area as a failed attempt (even so they can find out what happened). Although it doesn't look like debris.

The 'panel' (minus the shadow) looks a bit like another photograph stitched on.

It looks like it might be a dried up riverbed that's cracked up and the gaps have been filled in with wind blown dust over time to the point that just the upper edge is still left. Curiosity trundled over a river bed and took photos of rounded pebbles embedded in the surface and so on a while back.

It's in a thread on a certain 'other' forum. The OP of that thread posted a few piccies he thought looked strange, most of them just look like rocks to me, but I thought the 'panel' one was interesting. Who knows for sure but I like to keep an open mind.

This just shows how editing a picture like the first one made me go "Hmm, interesting" but the full picture doesn't.

Not really because the right side of the 'plate' can clearly be seen as rock all chipped away.

The original image, I don't know what you call that effect, maybe negative? but it looks like a cheap instragram effect. Probably just a funny shaped rock and a photo quality issue.

This is with photoshop auto colour applied. Setting usually makes the mars images look like earth images.
