Unusual metal object found on Mars...

So after all this time has anyone said anything more about what it actually might be?

If NASA don't know what it is then nobody does.

Wait for the next Mars mission or for NASA to send instructions to revisit that area for a closer look.

Here's one I was looking at the other day that looks like a panel of some description ...

Dunno what to make of it, supposedly the photo's are all available to view on the NASA website.

Why haven't you read the thread before posting something which has been asked 5+ times

For all the probes we've sent there, the chances of encountering something we've sent there have to be slim to none?

My money is on it being a natural phenomena

I would guess at natural too. Anyway, they send probes to the most interesting parts that they want to know about. Its entirely possible it would be in the same area as a failed attempt (even so they can find out what happened). Although it doesn't look like debris.

Can you link to that photo so we can see source and surrounding area?

It looks like it might be a dried up riverbed that's cracked up and the gaps have been filled in with wind blown dust over time to the point that just the upper edge is still left. Curiosity trundled over a river bed and took photos of rounded pebbles embedded in the surface and so on a while back.

It's in a thread on a certain 'other' forum. The OP of that thread posted a few piccies he thought looked strange, most of them just look like rocks to me, but I thought the 'panel' one was interesting. Who knows for sure but I like to keep an open mind.

Here's a better version of that one for those not wanting to click the dreaded link :p

Yeah, I know, lolshoot1st etc :p

Not really because the right side of the 'plate' can clearly be seen as rock all chipped away.

Yes, you've already said it doesn't make you go 'Hmm, interesting' :p

You're more than likely right though, but I'll stick with not being 100% convinced either way, if that's alright with you? :p
