If NASA don't know what it is then nobody does.
Wait for the next Mars mission or for NASA to send instructions to revisit that area for a closer look.

It looks like it might be a dried up riverbed that's cracked up and the gaps have been filled in with wind blown dust over time to the point that just the upper edge is still left. Curiosity trundled over a river bed and took photos of rounded pebbles embedded in the surface and so on a while back.Here's one I was looking at the other day that looks like a panel of some description ...

This just shows how editing a picture like the first one made me go "Hmm, interesting" but the full picture doesn't.

That's ok, but to me the second one still looks interesting, it still makes me go ''Hmm, interesting''.![]()
Not really because the right side of the 'plate' can clearly be seen as rock all chipped away.
