Can I just say, it's the most annoying pointless stupid thing ever.
Stop giving me the do you want to use tapatalk app. No I don't, and not the other million times you've asked me.
I actualy own a smart phone and surprisingly it actually renders forums fine.

Aggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

*goes to punch a wall

The single handily the most annoying and pointless app ever. I would pay to get it banned.

* picks up the phone and calls a shrink.

At least several websites now ask if you want desktop or mobile site and actually saves the awnser for future use. Unlike other rubbish websites.

Did I touch a nerve? :D Calm down, I was only asking as it's a very intuitive , useful app!

The reason I don't use that app is because it doesn't support this type of forum, and it seems to be used for the majority that I visit.

For such a popular app it's odd that it doesn't include something to make it work with this type of forum (but I know nothing about writing apps so...).

most large forum admins dont want to open themselves up to a third party setup like tapatalk, the security risk is too great to have a whole set of operations you have no control of the code for.

To be honest, I don't feel the need to use an app for the forums. As long as you use a speedy browser then browsing these forums are fine.

Shame. I think a good app would add to the user experience.

I've just found this unofficial OC app.

I don't understand why tapatalk can't just look at the forum code and use some simple code to simply display it on a small screen in a better way. The neogaf forums for example have a different layout for mobile devices if you wish to use that, now I'm not saying OcUK should bother to do what neogaf have done but my point is that all you need to do is modify the css slightly and you get a feature restricted mobile version. A third part app should do this, rather than needing to integrate directly with the forums backend.

Tapatalk supports this type of forum (vBulletin) just fine. I use several forums of this type with Tapatalk; XDA Developers for instance.

I use similar Apps with other forums, it's much more "sausage fingers" friendly than browser based reading on a smartphone/tablet

I'll never understand why anyone uses that app on modern phones. Hopefully OcUK never implement it if it means I'll get annoying popup telling me about it when I browse here :p.

Problem IMO isn't so much the constant notifications, more the fact that Tapatalk never seems to do anything properly.

Do very much wish that OcUK had a mobile layout however.

And this is why I hope OcUK don't add Tapatalk support, seeing "Sent from my <insert phone here> using Tapatalk" under every post drives me insane.

Sent from my computer using the ****ing internet .

Wasn't from Tapatalk though, was from that Forum Reader thing. You can turn it off, though many don't just to be a PITA.

True, I'd settle for a mobile layout if support for the most popular app won't happen.

Plus you can switch signatures off in tapatalk.
