Whats going on?

That is true but if he went the Odin way he could install a i9100 rom. I think the only thing that will break is NFC. Don't quote me on that though but I'm sure I read that in the CM thread on XDA.

You have the same model of Galaxy S2 as I do OP.

The GT-I9100P which is the same as a GT-I9100, except it has NFC built into it!

I flashed the Nordic Version of Jelly Bean onto mine yesterday, I've lost the NFC capability. But I'll never use it anyway!

You have to flash the phone using Odin, which is risky if anything goes wrong.

But you'll be waiting a long long time for O2 to actually release their version of Jelly Bean for the NFC S2.

It took them ages to release Ice Cream Sandwich onto it!

I always wanted to use Kies but lost my patience with Samsung delaying the JB release constantly so ive used Odin to update it with an official Samsung JB rom from Spain. It really is very very easy and I'm so glad I did it as JB is fantastic and makes the phone feel like new again!

I'm not on official job but it's still stock and it's a nice update. Lots of little options added. Just don't like the keyboard. I use 3 x 4

Kies is more frustrating to use than Odin by a long shot!

Literally just plug your phone in, download the required files like 3 iirc, place them in Odin and hit the start button, job done :p

Very true. I tried updating my mates note and kies wouldn't see it so tried another mates sgs1. Wouldn't see that either. Didn't really want to try main when it's not my phone to much messing if you flash with a dodgy rom or it doesn't work first time

I thought its come out in UK?
If not any idea when it might be realistically released on my phone then?

And question on Odin

Do I have to flash phone before I can use odin to then download jelly bean?

On that, I've done overclocking on PC, but that's nearly %100 safe, is flashing my phone to accept jb going to be similar?

Download the Spanish official version from SamMobile.com and flash that. Its not in Spanish or anything so don't worry about that. I heard that the UK version has now been pushed back until March. Its been pushed back every month since November. Using Odin, I found, was no more unsafe than using Kies. Just charge your battery, use a decent cable and make sure your computer isn't going to die. There are step by step walk throughs on XDA developers. Just google it. Its safe if you follow some common sense rules like above.

P.s. I am not into downloading new ROMs every day and trying them out or rooting everything, I just wanted a stable version of the next version of Android, and the Official Samsung 4.1.2 for the GS2 released in Spain is entirely that.

Odin is a much better way of updating your phone than Kies. Kies is a horrible PoS.

If you do decide to use Odin, make sure Kies isn't running (kill kies.exe in task manager) as otherwise the flash might fail (it won't brick your phone though, you'll just start panicking, thinking you have :p).

When you load up Odin DON'T touch any checkboxes, just press PDA (and the other 2 it tells you to if the firmware you download has more than one file) and choose what you want to flash :).

Meh, is there actually any difference considering they've been released within like a week of each other?
