Hey guys,

In the market for a new keyboard, I've managed to get to feel some Cherry Blacks, Browns & Blues (Sadly no reds) but I've come to the conclusion that I prefer cherry browns to my current BlackWidows blue's, as my BlackWidow is slowly biting the dust (Many due to me spilling drink into it) I think it's time for a new keyboard.

I've looked at QPAD MK-80's and really like the thought of the back-lit blue as my PC fan lights, watercooling, mouse and monitor lights are all blue but it seems the cherry brown version is out of stock, literally everywhere.

What would you guys recommend that comes with cherry browns?

Qpad MK-85. I've got one with browns, no complains really. I've ordered it from QPad directly.

I think the G710 also has browns. Worth a look since it's Logitech, very expensive though.

The Zowie Celeritas also has browns. Good company.

Probably some Filco Majestouch available as well.

I'm in the same boat. Bought an MK-85 with reds, but find them to soft and easy to press. Would now like an MK-80 or 85 with browns, but there are none about. Also the all the lights except caps/num have died on my 3 month old MK-85, which isnt good for a £100+ keyboard.

Not sure what to get now, or where to get one with Browns, I have asked OC and they have no timeframe for when browns will be back in stock.

The Qpad looks like a great keyboard, but why does it have to have the words "Pro Gaming Gear" all over it?

It does look pretty garish in the screenshots!

What other options for Brown Cherry MX with backlighting?

The Qpad website says that only the Mk85 has NKRO via USB.

Is the Qpad a Full Speed or Low Speed USB device? If I'm spending this much on a keyboard I want full NKRO and USB Full Speed.

The Logitech looks nice, but I don't like the grey WASD/cursor keys, nor the orange highlighting around the macro keys. :(

I don't believe the Filco uses USB Full Speed and so is not NKRO and has higher latency.

Doesn't the Blackwidiw Ultimate Stealth come in ANSI (US) layout?

Yes it does but it's worth having the US layout I just have windows on the UK layout.. Also NKRO pretty much doesn't exsist with USB keyboards.

I just don't notice the orange boarder around the macro keys or the grey WASD keys.

I just the love the feel of the keys on the board. :D

That's a myth.
To all intents and purposes it does exist. It just requies Full-Speed USB2 rather than Low-Speed. Low-Speed Interrupt Transfers have a maximum packet-size of 8 bytes, which results in six keys + modifiers (6NKRO). Full-Speed Interrupt Transfers can have up to 64 bytes in a packet. You could also use multiple endpoints on Low-Speed.

Have a read of the USB Specifications and HID Specifications.

There's a few NKRO Full-Speed keyboards out there. You also get 1000Hz report-rate, latency of 1ms (c.f. 100Hz on Low-Speed, latency 10ms).

Personally I'd prefer to have a Full-Speed keyboard with the lower-latency. Razer BlackWidow has 10NKRO on Full-Speed, which is great as I have ten digits to type with. Corsair Vengence K90 has 20NKRO, Qpad MK-85 is full NKRO on USB.
