On the 8th of March I will be heading to Dublin to see Lil Wayne (Don't judge me! :D ) with my fianceé and 2 of her friends. We won't be driving as I will be driving to Newry and parking the car there and getting the train there. No idea how much the train costs return.

So far, our accommodation is in Rathgar and cost 110E per couple.

I was planning on taking an additional 200E on top of this, as we will probably get to Dublin, go to hotel, drop off our things then head back to the City Centre for dinner, a few drinks then on the 02.

We will probably be relying on taxis to get to and from hotel to city centre which is about 2.5miles.

Any dubliners care to break my spirit? :P

Why leave your car in Newry? Like the most dangerous place to leave it unless you like buying new car windows and tyres :p (sorry there has to be one Newry joke a year)

Train from Belfast to Dublin was £28 last time I did it, so I guess return from Newry is about £20 odd each, can't make the translink site produce prices at the moment (its been a while since I used it).

€200 is more than enough! (unless you really really need to drink, seeing Lil Wayne probably means you'll need too). Two of you can eat out somewhere rubbish for a fiver, ok for €20 each or go nuts at €50 each (pretty easy to find food there). Wouldn't waste the cash on getting a taxi to the O2 though, Dublin taxis are pricey (and LOVE sterling if your strapped for Euros) and so long as its not raining its a pretty good walk down to the O2 on the river front (plus its a pain driving down that bit when somethings on).

To be honest so long as you have some sort of card that lets you take money out in the republic I wouldn't take loads of cash anyway. One of my bank accounts lets me with draw cash for free in Europe which is better than wondering round with massive Euros.

I plan on walking to the 02 from the City Centre, but the taxi's I meant from city centre to Rathgar (don't particularly fancy walking as I have NEVER been to Dublin before so would probably end up lost :D ) My brother says there are shuttles that go all around dublin at all times? I am not sure if he is winding me up lol. I am with Santander, they don't charge for withdrawals in spain, will have to ask about Dublin.

Only reason I am leaving the car in Newry is because it has free parking, whereas I am not even sure Belfast station even has a car park?

EDIT::
Use their web fare offer for the Enterprise, just make sure you book it at least 3 days in advance.

Thanks for that £17.98 one way for 2 people on that , not bad at all!
