Sounds like a great idea, not.
Why?
Okay.I have ways and means of supporting myself I just wanted to know if anyone had done this before, I can support myself so thats not what Im asking.
Okay.
Well I'm currently doing 60 credits every six months plus I'm working ~ +20 hours a week, which is a nice middle ground. It means that I will complete my degree within three years.
Why do you want to do an OU degree without working, it's sort of the point of it?
Ha, I know that feeling! I'm doing a BSc in computing and IT while working in retail. -_-I hate my current job and the degree I am doing is nothing to do with my current job at all. I want to get the degree done as quick as possible as I am desperate for the new challenge it will bring me.

What I plan to do is wait until I've completed a few more modules, then start applying for positions in my field.
I'm currently working on a BA Business Studies.
Completed my 120 points at Level 1. Completed the 60 at Level 2 with the second 60pts coming to an end shortly.
So just the 2x 60pts Level 3 modules to go.
Hard work - yes. Would it be easier if I didn't have to work and could do it full time? Hell yes.
But with a family, mortgage - never gonna happen.
I am currently doing an OU degree part time and I am thinking of quitting my job and doing it full time.
Any one here have any experience of this?
Thanks
I'm looking at open university course, particularly the Natural Sciences one. I'm the same as you guys, I hate my job and not need a change.
What was the entry process like for you guys? Interviews and whatnot, were they required? And how do you guys pay for it, by loan?
Don't you need a PGCE as well if you want to teach in a secondary school? The degree isn't enough. For me its a bit harder I doing a BSC in Sport Fitness and Coaching and want to go into teaching PE in secondary school
