Thanks Voice, I've been watching online videos and reading opinions that suggest that an SSD in a PS3 is actually probably a poor idea and they all seem to suggest going for a 7200rpm drive. But I'm also worried that a few people have said these little super slim PS3's get very warm and faster drives do get quite toasty, whilst SSD's generate very little heat.
I'm replacing my existing PS3 as the BluRay drive's playing silly buggers and not playing some movies, but I do play quite a few games on it too. My main game is GranTurismo which hammers the HDD like no other (the install is over 8gb now!) this is why I'm thinking SSD; but now I'm thinking do I do the sensible thing and spend a load less on a 750gb 7200rpm Scorpio. choices choices.
