Do think the nintendo Wii U is going to fail ??

I think people expect too much, take pretty much any new hardware release in the last few years and it has always been a slow start:

Nintendo Wii - Everyone wrote it off and became a smash hit
Nintendo 3DS - Very slow start but recovered to be come successful
PS Vita - Very poor start, still struggling but starting to pickup

If you think back to when PS3 and Xbox 360 came out the launch line-ups were fairly poor and the releases for first 6 months were pretty crap.

And hardly no one brought the PS3 at launch because it was priced at £425 (people seem to forget that) the price didn’t shift for over a year and it wasn’t by much either.

Despite the slow start with Wii U, Nintendo still have the best launch line up in history with the SNES and Gameboy Advance.

Anyone who thinks that the Wii U wont sell like hot cakes the second MArio Kart and Zelda/3d Mario are out is sorely mistaken.

I'm still very much enjoying mine.

The difference being that all the games were at least exclusive to the next gen. If I had a Wii U I'd probably still buy the cross platform games for 360/ps3 because their online infrastructure is a lot better.

Like other people have said, I'm the first to jump on a new consoles but the Wii U just hasn't excited me enough to warrant the price tag. I'm not sure I'm ready to kill it off just yet but it needs some decent games to survive, that's for sure.

The reason the Wii did well initially was because it was so different to anything available (that's not the only reason but it helped). The Wii U isn't really.

Anyone who thinks that the Wii U will sell like hot cakes when it has only one decent nintendo game a year and no third party support, and PS4 and Nextbox are out with games likes COD are sorely mistaken;)

One a year? where do you get that from?

3dMario, Zelda, Mario Kart etc will sell systems, maybe you don't like that fact?

Games like COD? same COD that is on Wii u?

Also, lets wait and see what price the next PS/Xbox are. PS4 will be £300+ at launch I'm sure, wouldn't be surprised if Xbox is similar.

Why would anyone wat it to fail.Thats like saying I hope your companys goes belly up and your out of a job.The wiiU isnt ther only console

Lol. Just lol. You can have your COD mate, as much as you like, and I'll stick with those yearly updates you were talking about ;)

Unfortunately I think it will fail.

How many people bought a Wii only to play it just that Xmas?

I expect most won't consider it on that fact alone.

Not sure if serious.

Why wouldn't he? You only have to take one look at the sales charts to see that both COD and EA Sports games spend ridiculous amounts of time at or near the top of the sales charts.

There will be plenty of people who buy them just to play the latest COD and Fifa.

Really? Maybe it's just because I don't know anyone with 1 but knew loads who got the wii at launch

Apparently so. I don't know how legit the figures are but different sources have similar figures. For some reason people think the Wii U is doing poorly because people don't seem to talk about it that much :p.

It sold about 90% of the Wii's sales figures in the same time period. It's hardly failing.

The difference being the Wii was almost impossible to find for about 2 years, Wii U's are sitting on shelves, if the Wii wasn't supply constrained its sales in the same time period would have been much, much higher.
