Gtx 670/680 2gb or 4gb?

Hi guys

Just pulled the trigger on an Asus PB278Q

Also going to upgrade fron gtx 580 to a 670 or 680

My question is should I get a 2gb or 4gb card for 1440p??

No benefit from 4gb unless Skyrim + mods is your main game

Or your intending to go Tri Sli with 2D/3D surround

I thought 2gb would be ok

Guess at 1440p I can afford to back off the AA which saves on the VRAM usage

I know this isnt what you asked but its always best to have extra choices!

You could try AMD and get a 3GB card so thats bang in the middle, and should be cheaper.

1440p would like extra vram specially with newer games, but im not 100% sure on the usage as i game at 1080p.

I play Flight Sim X a lot which seems to run far better on nvidia gpus otherwise I would prob have got the 7970

Well as Weehamish said, you'll get more performance for less if you got an AMD card, say a 7950, at 2560x1440 than you would with an nVidia card, regardless of the VRAM.

FSX is more suited to Nvidia GPU's. No idea since AMD pulled their fingers out and released the 12.11 drivers I have to say.

A good CPU is vital and a good 2GB 670 will see you well.
