Geforce Titan rumours.

Launch date is all well and good, but when will they be available?

Soon ™

I'm more interested in the release price currently, then I wear out my F5 key accordingly. Would very much like 2 of these cards but upwards of £900 would make me seriously reconsider.

Thats a turn based game though, its normally fast action when theres problems.

I agree it is getting better but i still wouldnt do it.

If you could would you swap them all out for 1 card?

No glitches when I run BF3 @1600p maxed either, fps min 110, max about 190

No I would not swap them for a single card - GTX 690s don't suffer from microstutter.

Couple hundred could be 300 - 3000.

But yeah everyone is excited to see how it pans out.

No "couple hundred" is 200. Stop talking nonsense and making stuff up and trying to pretend that there's basis behind your comments (i.e. by saying something along the lines of '8 pack said this so....'). You made it up with complete guesswork.

+1

The ARES II is 2 HD 7970s with a halfway house cooler, better than air/worse than water and not really that good an overclocker compared to 2 single HD 7970s.

So the fastest out of the box graphics card on the planet isn't interesting?
That comes across that your a little miffed that the 690's arn't top of the pile anymore :D

What do you mean "fast action is where there is a problem"?

Good info cheers Cat :)

Paper launch is good enough for me....For now :)

Not much point getting one is there Gregster? Won't be any faster than 680 SLI. At triple screen, at best it'll be even. :(

Time to cash some browny points in and whip the CC out for a second. :D

lmao. I have permission to get one but not two. 40%-50% above a 680 is seriously tempting but price will still be my deciding factor.

When I had my Classifieds I could play most games in surround with med/high in game settings and be playable.(single card)

Now if these Titans are 40% more powerful than a 680 with larger bus/bandwidth, I'm starting to wonder if they could run surround
maxed setting at around 60fps and above.

So I'm hoping when they do the first reviews that they include surround set ups

But I do think 2 will be the amount of cards required

I have a very good understanding wife, i have been talking to her about this and she said if it makes me happy by all means buy one.
Not bad after 32yrs of been wed.

Not in the slightest

The GTX 690 has never been top of the pile 2 x HD 7970s have always been faster.

The advantage the GTX 690 has and has still got is it is easy to put 2 in the same rig.

If you go down that route with 2 x ARES IIs it is clumsy as hell (those rads)not to mention you will probably need 2 PSUs when overclocking and the icing on the cake - the drivers for quadfire are very bad (at least quad sli tends to work most of the time).

If you think I have a problem with AMD I don't, I also own 3 Matrix Platinums (2 are enough to wipe the floor with an ARES II) and a 5970 x 2 quadfire setup.

If I was that bothered about the ARES II I would just buy a couple but I am not.

I am very interested in the Titan and if it performs well I may make a purchase or 2.:D

If you only get one you may end up regreting it - no upgrade path after they have all sold out. The other thing to remember is the next generation of games, will one Titan be enough to run something like FC3 and whatever new games launch in the near future.

Yeah, I wouldn't be stepping from those Lightnings down to a single Titan greg, it's only worth it if you can get a second. (I'm the devil on your shoulder ;))

Will you still get one if it turns out to be slower than your two 680's Greg?

And also at Rusty + Kaapstad.

I will not get any if the price is mental. I will forgo any up grade and possibly get 2 7970's. I hate not being able to max out games and feel 2*7970's would give more fps at my res.

Before people jump in and say "get 7950's", I love benching, so that would be a no.

I am happy to pay a premium for a limited edition card and if priced fair, I will get 2. I do feel one could give the same performance as 2*680's because of the bigger bus at my res but I am basing that on pure guess work and nothing to back it up.

I won't quote anyone either ;)

We would welcome you with open arms Greg. :) Don't forget about the MSI 7970 OC card either. :D

What? I'm allowed to mention it once a day. I'm cutting down, i just can't go cold turkey. :(
