Geforce Titan rumours.

This is why I went for the 7970 I couldn't see my self dropping £900 on a new card as opposed to £300 odd for MORE than adequate performance.
Once the 7 series nvidia is released the performance gap will be even smaller, it just doesn't seem worth it unless you have money coming out of your arse.

Time will tell and I would much sooner stay Green but if the price is crazy, who knows?

One thing I have been thinking about is will the Titans have some sort of hardware fix for microstutter when used in sli, if they do it would be a nice bonus.

So prices has gone to next level
High-end single gpu cards --- $800-1000
Mid range --- $ 400-500

I don't like the way this is going :(

I've seen the 690 are down to £740 on here now.

I fear titan will be MORE than 690 tho!

Even factoring in selling my WF670 (around £260) its going to cost me around £500 to upgrade.:(

For me the titan needs to come in a fair bit less than 690 to be worthwhile.

I guess i have to wait for 7 series.

Preliminary results show that in 3DMark Fire Strike (Extreme), GTX Titan scores 4870. According to our own testing, this would put the part some 500 points (10%) behind two GeForce GTX 680s in SLI mode. Given that single GTX 680 achieves around 3000 points, almost 1900 points fewer than GTX Titan. Bear in mind this is still not enough to beat a single GeForce GTX 690.

Looks to be quite realistic tbh.

Doing the sums, the Firestrike Extreme figure quoted is about 85% the performance of a GTX 690 which was the figure first put around when news of the Titan first emerged.

if the pics shows any accuracy the later 780 will be about the same as todays Titan.
single card for surrond gaming starts to get where they should.

We would welcome you with open arms Greg. :) Don't forget about the MSI 7970 OC card either. :D

What? I'm allowed to mention it once a day. I'm cutting down, i just can't go cold turkey. :(

Lol man.

Its starting to look better the closer to release!

I would like to see greg with either 2 titans or 2 7970s though :D

What about the astronomical electricity bill I would have? I have to consider these things and maybe I will have "bad experiences" with SLI Titans or CF 7970's like you have had with your previous SLI experiences. Then I have to consider if "turn based" games are my thing and I will have problems with "Fast action" I also have to consider that only a "couple 100" Titans will be available in the UK and the price of these "2 hundred" will be over my budget.

All these things need consideration :)
