New Gaming Build between £750 - £900

I'd seriously consider finding a way of squeezing an SSD in for the system drive. It makes such a difference to the general snappiness of a system and for desktop and day to day use I'd happily take a slower CPU and GPU if it meant I could have an SSD. I don't think I could stomach spending over £800 on a PC without one.

+1 for hono build myself, while i also don't like B grade stuff, you get the same warranty but might just have a cable missing, as most m/b boxes come with spares anyway, cable loss would make any difference to me at all as i have a box full anyway like most builders here do

Looks good. Although for an extra £4 you can double the HDD capacity.

Also not a fan of Saphire cards myself when others are available like Gigabyte, MSI and HIS.

An extra 1-2 fans would be my reccomendation for a single fan case, that said you can buy other cases with already 2-3 fans which ends up cheaper.

Well i've asked for a week to choose parts before finalizing everything, so things could change in that time. But it does give me a chance to consider most options. I will see if i can find a more suitable case though i think.

Any item on 'This week only' deals next week will more than likely end up being chosen. My previous two cards have been Sapphire and they've been superb but i could still change my mind.

Please feel free to spec a system with an SSD - i would love to include one, however, because it's a gaming build i really don't want to compromise with either the CPU or GPU if i can help it.

Some great virtual builds going on here chaps, i'm glad i asked on these forums!

The 24" monitor is set in stone and whilst i could probably get away with a B grade case i really don't want any electrical parts to be B grade, especially the HDD.

You'd think £900 would be a doddle to finance parts, but it's harder than you might think, especially now people have mentioned an SSD.

hows about this?

Dimensions (mm): 180mm x 360mm x 425mm (W x H x D) case

card is quite a big card, at 4cm thick and roughly 26cm long

so doing the maths now

26 centimetres = 260 millimetres

but that's a really cheap and tacky case tbh, it's the sort i chose for budget builds and get laughed at,

can always tell if it's a cheap case if it comes with a none branded psu (PSU Included: 500W with 120mm Fan) so yep, i've used many of the type (not this case) for very low spec builds, none with that spec of hardware tbh so must agree with you on it

This is something close to the final build hopefully:

Intel Core i5 -3330 £139.99
Asus P8Z77-V LX2 £79.99
Samsung 23.6" 1080P £129.95
Crucial M4 128Gb SSD £98.98
Gigabyte 7850 Windforce £161.99
Windows 7 64bit OEM £71.99
Corsair BS 500w PSU £49.99
BitFenix Shinobi £49.99
Seagate 500Gb HDD £41.99
GeIL 8Gb Leggera £31.99
OCUK 24x DVD RW £18.98

Remaining peripherals will be coming from elsewhere. I'm quite pleased with this to be honest; i've managed to include an SSD without compromising the build i think.

Later than advertised, but just ordered the following:

Intel Core i5 -3330
Asus P8Z77-V LX2
Samsung S24B300BS 24" 1080P
Corsair Force Series 3 120GB SSD
Gigabyte 7850 Windforce
Windows 7 64bit OEM
Corsair BS 500w PSU
BitFenix Shinobi
Western Digital 500Gb HDD
GeIL 8Gb Leggera
OCUK 24x DVD RW

Also went for the mouse and keyboard, gel wrist supports for both and an intake fan for the Shinobi.

Does anyone have an inkling as to how hot this machine will run? The processor will be using the stock cooler and the Windforce will be dumping hot air into the case. Should i be concerned?
