new series Fifth gear

Pretty much same as always ,but they dragged the plane vs boxster out abit too much.
That audi s8 was impressive though beating the v8 r8 in a drag race

Kind of prefer it to Top Gear these days - TG seems to have run out of ideas and is over and done with in half a dozen episodes or so. At least you find out what cars are like on 5th gear rather than how well they go sideways (which is useful to know... I suppose... for someone)

It's not on Channel 5 any more, it's shown on Discovery.

only on discovary these days. What i like is they have proper drivers on there, who know what they are talking about, plato, tiff ect (is tiff still presenting?) viky ect, then you have that shiney haired bloke who gives a buyers view upon the cars, the new st review was really good i thought. Gave a nice ballence between the good and the bad which is what you want i geuss right?

Caught the odd episode from the last series and i was impressed.

Discovery really have turned this program around imho.

TG is more all around but I agree that the standard has declined. They have however filmed over different parts of the world which is something that will keep some of the viewers interested.

TG is pure entertainment and has some of the best camera and post-production work I’ve seen on TV.

5th Gear is more about facts, with some added fun.

Each show has good and bad points about them, but i personally enjoy both.

I agree, plane vs Porsche was dragged out. Especially given that it was just a drag race..

However, they fit as much car as possible in, whereas Top Gear tend to focus more on the entertainment. I watch and enjoy both, but Fifth Gear is more about the cars.

However, neither are are as good as Youtube reviews these days.

I thought the opposite, fifth gear seem to be taking a leaf out of top gears' book in this series, more fooling around, the boxster section was dragged out far too much and was boring, the S8 was beautiful though, i want one! I'll still watch though, it's car related so it'll do!
