*** The Official Microsoft Surface Pro Thread ***

Its been out in the states, they had a launch date, we get **** all, seriously.

WANT, NOW...

They aren't included with any other Windows 8 Pro running device either.

But Surface with RT does have Office 2013.
MS also wouldn't have the same license fee to worry about, unlike other Windows 8 Pro devices.

So I'd have to say it's stingy, what really separates the Surface Pro from the rest?

Pro isnt aimed at the traditional "tablet" market though its more business, imho at least..
Plus Office RT is crap without Outlook...

So having Office would make more sense?

It's not stingy it's just normal. Office RT is the outlier, plus it's a non-commercial license anyway.

It needs to be more than normal.
I mean given the absolute abomination that has been Windows 8 tablet launch, you'd think they want to be hitting all the right notes.

Well we'd all love free stuff but I think it's beyond reasonable to expect Microsoft to just give Office away for nothing. It's one of their biggest products. The only reason Office RT is there is because they don't have a Metro version ready. You could bet your house that if there was, it would be in the store and you would be paying for it.

It would be nice if they just gave us an approximate time frame. Soon could mean anything from next month to late this year.

You have to hand it to MS, they really aren't very good with product launches at the moment.

I can't being to tell you how frustrating the whole Surface Pro thing is as you all know. I really don't understand why it seems to be only Apple that can do an international launch.

Is it just really all about not having a very good production line for these products?

The whole windows 8 launch on tablets has been a fiasco. There's still **** all available be it rt, atom or I-series.

Yup. We have a few overpriced Atom tablets from HP, Samsung and Acer and a couple of i5 tablets and convertibles. Getting hold of any of them, let alone actually trying one out in store is pretty difficult.

Apple and Google must be laughing their behinds off.

In my little company we reckon this will be a great fit for us as we travel a lot and don't always want to lug laptops but the existing crop of tablets are total junk for office tasks (my transformer a case in point). Now if only Microsoft would take our damn money we would be buying multiple units.

MS just updated their blog to say:

"Surface Pro will be coming to the UK in the coming months" .......months.... MONTHS??? C'mon, this is silly. By the time we get it, at this rate there will be Surface 2 on the horizon.
