Newsflash : nobody is doing that.
People are making word-play related puns, get a grip.
Incorrect, some of the jokes were far more than that.

Did the jokes at your dads funeral involve the situation he came to his end in?
I would, and I know people would laugh.
Why? Because (and I post this in every similar situation) it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness.
Yep.
They're not appropriate here.

So because you would it's okay?
Okay then I can't prove otherwise, but I would find that distasteful to joke about the situation in how someone died.

Better update the ol' rule book then.

Sorry I didn't actually see the pun![]()
Do you watch family guy or anything like that?
And there we have it. Everyone is different. I know for a fact that people enjoyed what I said, and if my father was there he would have also enjoyed what I said.
You can't go around forcing your moral code upon others because everyone has their own which has developed through their life and experiences. One moral code does not exist for all, because we are all different in how we feel and what we have experienced.
See my point?
Do you see my point then that some here do find it distasteful and therefore they shouldn't have to see it when trying to have a proper discussion about the topic. Go make a thread labelled oscar pistorius puns.
No I sit in my dark basement.
So ill take that as a yes since sarcasm doesn't translate well over the internet. Do you find it funny at all seeing as they have a running joke about a paedophile, Rodney king beatings etc etc? Bit odd taking the moral high ground now![]()

So why are they appropriate in say, the Jimmy Saville thread, or the Dorner thread, or in countless other threads?
Genuine question, I just want to know the parameters of when jokes about a subject are allowed or not, as it is going to be hard not to transgress the line when nobody seems to know where that line is.
