Why didnt you just get it from there from the start then? Its where i would get mine from, well there or Merlin.

I wanted to try the Superstar hub and to buy the hub and rim seperate it was the same price as getting the wheel built .

Seems that it will be the same week I'm there.
OcUK Morzine meet! :D

I was gonna go either last week of July or first week of August.
If you do go with riders retreat don't stay in Chalet Philippe becuase its a dive. When I stayed there in 2011 with Jimferno it was dirty. Swimming pool was filthy and water was coming through the roof in our room at one point from the rooms above shower. Another mate stayed in the barn and it looked better when we visisted.
Bike Tart had a chalet last year that looked good. Didn't go last year but hoping they have it again for this year so I can stay there.

I don't want to stay at Rider's again either. Usually a group of us hire an entire chalet through a letting agency, which works out a lot cheaper and the rooms / houses are massive. I was at the barn however a couple years ago and disliked it there too, the room wasn't big enough for both me and a mate changing into our gear at the same time, while the private hire was always gargantuan.

Let me know when you decide on the dates.

We'll be in morzine either the 21st-28th or 28th-4th. Or both!! :)

Of July / Aug?

Topical this ... I've recovered from my broken collarbone so am doing the only natural thing and planning an Alps trip.

Any advice for an Alps first timer? There'd be a group of around 4-5 and we ride 140-150mm full-sus jobbies, so quality singletrack and such like rather than full on downhill madness.

I've seen recommendations for places such as TrailAddiction and Whiteroom Chalets, the advantage of guided riding and support for first timers. I can see it being a bit cheaper organising our own thing but then being stuck for the best trails, sounds easier to get a package type thing?

Personally wouldnt bother with a package deal.
If it was me in your situation, I would just book into the Passports event...which will take you in a massive group all over the place with awesome singletrack and mild descents.

Interesting, just looking though and is the Passportes event over a single weekend in June? We were looking at heading out in mid-August.

Canyon seem to be taking their Enduro team seriously, first Joe Barnes and now Fabien! Can see them selling some Strives.

The strive is gorgeous as well! I might actually have to save up to get me one of them.

Edit: The bottom one at £2k comes with a Talas fork and Reverb seat post? That's ridiculous compared to the competition!

Lee Quarry in the morning for me, looking forward to seeing how the DB Air performs and hopefully tweak it to my riding more, already performs better and I've only done XC so far which is only using around 50% travel so far so no more blowing through the travel.

Anyone else got riding plans for the weekend?
