Well he can continue with Iron Man in The Avengers 2/3. Although he's great in the role, he is getting a little older now, he might some day want to to tone down the action.
 
Batman - more reboots and different people playing Batman than any other franchise?

I'd say the 2 roles are not comparable tbh
 
Usually actors/actresses don't like to be typecast.

I hope he does at least another 3 iron man films :p As someone else said, honestly can't think of anyone else to play that role, Robert Downey Jnr IS Tony Stark/iron man! :D :p

If his contract is like Chris Evans', he will have one more film after this and the Avengers 2.
 
Looking at the cast on the IMDB page
it looks like it's gonna be based on the Extremis storyline, with Maya Hansen and Sal Kennedy in it.

It'd explain the suit looking over Potts in the trailer without Stark being in it. His subconscious controlling it while he's sleeping.

It's one of my favourite books in general, not just Iron Man

Should be good.

Not exactly a lot of action for him in the Iron man films really, its entirely CGI apart from his head, he could be in a wheel chair and still make iron man films.
