OcUK Rolling Road Day 15 @ PowerStation (Tewksbury) - Saturday April 20th 2013

Ermmm... The fuel there and back costs me £80 alone. So not exactly close.

Make the effort dude, seriously.

The OcUK staff set off at 7:00 for a 8:45 arrival. Not exactly "close" is it.

It's probably not worth the 520 mile round trip, I'd have to set off around 4:30am for a 8:45 arrival...

80 miles from OCUK HQ is close in my books...

If you can, do what I did last time and travel the night before to the Hilton hotel which is only 3 miles from powerstation.

Going to try and do the same this time if I can.

Won't be able to make this one unfortunately. :(

Good news for me is it's because I will be at the Nurburgring instead :D

Put me down a maybe, I do want to come but already had something kind of planned for that weekend...

Fn2 type r with tweaked flashpro group n map (might have mugen intake and another map on it by then)

There's absolutely nothing to stop you from organising an event like this in your neck of the woods!

I think the motors section is growing, and hopefully regional events will start to happen, rather than events being around the Stoke on Trent area...

Some of the comments in this thread are rather childish however, not sure I would want to "meet" most of those people.

I was genuinely asking why events were always arranged around that area, if no one speaks up, it always leave those who live further afield being left out.

If anything events in motors has died on its arse. There used to be several every year now there is one or two.

Also Gloucestershire is 100miles from Stoke on Trent, infact we've never had any meet in Staffordshire.

Infact there has never been a meet in the Stoke/Stafford area.

They tend to be north Manchester, Portsmouth or Tewkesbury area, all of which are not in the Stoke/Stafford area.

I think what people are taking exception to is that it isn't actually that close to Stoke-On-Trent at all. It's effectively Cheltenham. Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, Nottingham, Derby, Leicester. These are all closer to Stoke-On-Trent than Powerstation.

Don't get me wrong, it's still a trek for a lot of people, but it's fairly central and if you've run your car on rollers before, and you want to measure the difference, you're MUCH better off with the same rollers. Hence why OcUK often go to the same place.
