Is it possible to use online cloud storage for prvate streaming media?

If, say, I have homes around the world and I buy a DVD and I want to back it up, is it possible to store a backup on Mega or Drive or any other similar service, and then have different members of the family be able to to stream the film to any PC in any of those homes?

Media server at home running Plex with a myPlex account (free). Saves uploading all your data on to a cloud you don't own. It will be limited by your upstream though.

Then any device with a client logged into the account (or another account that you have shared your library with) can stream media from your Plex server.

I've used it to stream media to my iPad whilst away at my Parents and to the Android client on my phone (note that iOS and Android clients are payware).
