24 pin atx wiring

I want to cable braid my psu properly from the psu to the connectors and i also want to shorten the cables so they fit cleanly.

my psu is a thermaltake 650w evo blue, so its mostly modular but the 24 pin atx and the 8 pin cpu power cables are soldered in.

so to my question, the colored wires on the 24 pin atx connector, can the matching coloured wires be swapped or mixed? for example the are all oranges the same line and all the yellows 12v etc.

I just dont want to kill my pc or psu from accidentally swapping two wires that shouldnt be swapped.

yeah i get that but, since the only way to really identify which wire is which is the colour does it matter if two wires of the same colour are swapped? this can happen with or without a diagram

Yes you can swap them, nothing bad will happen as long as they start and terminate in the correct locations.
