Hey guys, (Sorry for a long post)

Got a problem with my Clio.

The key or system seems to have issues locking the car, So I began manually locking the car(Locking doors by turning the key)
Sometimes when I press the key the car will lock and unlock without any issues thus enabling and disabling the immobiliser properly but sometimes it just doesn't work, the red light on the key goes off but the car doesn't lock or unlock.

Today it wouldn't unlock, So I opened the doors manually with the key and alarm went off after a minute it stopped and came back on, So the immobiliser is on now and being the car sets off the alarm.

What's odd is that even with alarm going I was able to start the engine.

Is there any way to turn the immobiliser off so I could drive and then I would just manual lock each doors.

Thank you :)

I've seen an immobiliser bypass device for one on ebay when looking for parts for my 2001 clio. Might help - but to be honest it sounds you have an problem with the central locking, this isn't the same as the immobiliser system.

Well could be I guess my first issue is that the key isn't unlocking the door

Does your car have the positive terminal that screws on? If so, remove and drop it into vinegar for a bit, then lock the car and after 20 seconds remove the positive termninal. This used to work on my Ph1 Megane, so YMMV.

You're getting confused between what an alarm.is and what an immobiliser is. Immobiliser does what it says on the tin, wont let you start the engine.

Your problem is the alarm. You will be able to disable it and or the central locking but potentially not tempirarily and its not a real fix.

I locked my car with the fob so both lights on the dash and by the gear box are blinking thus immobiliser is on.
I am looking for a way to reset the central locking so it would forget that it was on, because I can start the engine as the transcoder chip in my key fob is working fine and gets deleted by the car but the stupid alarm goes off every time.

If I would disconnect a battery for an hour or so would it forget that it had central lock on?

Right, so you don't have any problem with the immobiliser since you can start the engine. It sounds like it's the alarm you are having problems with.

The first thing to try is to simply disconnect the battery (the car battery under the bonnet) for ten minutes. The Clio central locking system is prone to latching up due to voltage spikes, and you need to remove power to reset it.

I disconnected the negative lead for 20 minutes and few second after I connected it back again the alarm went off few seconds later

And you were unable to disarm it with the keyfob? If so then take a look at the remote sensor which is mounted in the interior light assembly. These can suffer from water damage to to leaks from the aerial fitting, which will be fairly obvious once you take it apart.

OK the receiver PCB has white residue at the top so water has clearly been leaking on top of it. But not sure what to do now with it? and how to clean it

PCB cleaner would be ideal, but you can simply give it a scrub with soap and warm water and an old toothbrush, followed by a very thorough rinse with clean water and then get a hairdryer onto it for a good 20 minutes to ensure every last drop of moisture has gone. Don't get the circuit too hot, you just need plenty of warm airflow.

Check for any component leads that may have corroded away completely. Obviously sort out the water leak from the aerial fitting before reinstalling the the PCB.

Well had an interesting drive, took my car to a garage with alarm going off and lights flashing was at the centre of attention :D Waiting by the traffic lights was bit awkward.

After the diagnostic check the conclusion was that the fob was busted and would not transmit the unlock signal to release my car form the alarm. So they just disabled my alarm. All this cost me £78 =[ getting a new key and coding would be around £140 which I won't do as I only paid £500 for the car.

None the less thank you guys for your help guys, Really appreciate it :)
