Tell me about // Hate the Swift sport

Not as far as I've heard yet, They are pretty new so no one on the owners forum has really done big miles or anything. Tbh you will be fine as long as you have the warranty, Make sure you are getting a good deal though!

Sounds over priced to me, Plenty out there for under £12k with less miles from dealers. I'd try knock them down a bit.

Just out of interest - is there still the same margin to haggle within these days? If so a new car may very well be as cheap as the used one they are selling?

That depends on how you are paying, Cash they are unlikely to move a inch, Finance they may well knock some off but you could still be getting nailed on the rate. Others around here know a lot more on that subject.

Well the Suzuki Dealership clearly didn't want to sell cars as I was ignored in there for almost twenty minutes and finally walked out. Citroen were a lot better but the ds3 imo is horrible.

Any other suggestions guys?

The value of the new swift pretty much. 13k, though I am possibly going to travel to look at a few delivery mileage ones as there seems to be a nice saving to be had :)

Hi... out of interest... did you find anything of interest?

Bought a new Swift sport myself at the start of the year and got to say, they are great little motors. If you look at the reviews OL, they get good write ups and must admit that I tend to agree with pretty much what they say.

Managed £840 off list myself (though taking Suzuki finance... which was still cheaper than my bank) and a few little extras thrown in:
IE.full tank fuel (usually only 1/2 a tank these days!), fitted carpet mats and mud flaps all round (though still waiting for these, as Suzuki don't do them for the sport yet).

No complaints yet (only 900 miles on the clock so far). Just don't believe the ludicrously optimistic trip meter (some 30% optimistic). Trip says 45 MPG over three tank's, brim to brim (same garage / same pump) says 35 MPG. Which more or less ties up with the relatively small 42l fuel tank and a range of just over 300 mile / tank.

Sorry for the late reply.

My friend drove one today and all I can say is blimey  These things handle absolutely amazingly well. I can honestly say I haven't been impressed by anything that much in a very long time.

The chassis seems to show very very little body roll, and unlike me who doesn't really press on that often... Alex gave it a spirited drive and it didn't disappoint at all.

The engine needed to be worked hard and kept on the boil but the acceleration was good. They certainly lack torque and that shows when you are just driving gently but when worked hard it appeared to be quite rewarding.

As for fuel economy, driving normally seems to yield good results, but I did see 8mpg for a period on the computer!

The dealership offered me a new one for £13,249 without suzuki finance which I thought was pretty good.

I've changed many clutches on a lot of the new suzuki range in the last year or 2, seems to be a very weak point on pretty much all of their range. Either that or it says something about suzuki owners?
Parts for suzuki's tend to be laughably expensive for cheaper end of the market cars too, so watch for that.

The clutches on the sport are different than the standard swift, the sport uses an exeedy clutch and people are still running them with no problems over 200bhp.

Yeah people supercharge and turbo them, I'd love to but the cost outweighs the benefit really.

Little update guys :

Had a good test drive in one today and am 99% ringing up to leave a deposit tomorrow!

Thanks for all your help :)

Enjoy. I'm sure you will :)

PS. Just don't believe the trip meter re- MPG. It's wildly optimistic. 35 MPG is more like a real world figure. But even this for a car that begs you to drive it only one way (IE. revs spinning towards 6k + RPM) is pretty good.
