Hey guys,

Does anyone know if this card (Twin Frozr 7950) exhausts heat out the back of the case or does it expel it inside the case?

I used to have it in a small Lian Li case and the load temps were 63c, but since putting it into a Xigmatek Asgard Pro, with MUCH better cabling and airflow it now hits 71c, really not sure why.

Is it better to have the side fan as intake or exhaust?

Thanks,

My Twin Frozr III Boost 7950 exhausts out the back. I think net exhaust (aka negative pressure) provides slightly better cooling but it may be negligible. I wouldn't expect the stock fans on that case to be very good, you could try replacing them with premium ones. Such a difference in temps goes to show the importance of a quality case. :)

I have an Enermax Magma blowing air onto the GPU from the side, which dropped it from 72 to 71 lol.

I think the Lian Li was unique in that it had the GPU at the top of the case directly beneath two intake top fans. With this case the Hyper 212+ is blocking any air coming in from the top reaching the GPU.

What case do you have and what kind of temps do you have on load mate?

Thx

Turn the Magma round and give it a go, depending on your other fans, it may even work out better to forget the Magma altogether as it could be having a negative effect on positive case air flow.
