So this is not to encourage breaking the forum rules but to rather ask the question.

Some of the more prominent members of this sub forum have interesting cars and seem to change them fairly frequently, Assuming they arent NathWraith they are probably selling them online somewhere. It be nice if there was a thread where if a member was selling their car they could plug the ad with just like 1 image and a link to PH/Autotrader/Ebay where the sale is being handled, in keeping with the existing rules no discussion of the sale would be allowed on this forum

Would this sort of thing be allowed? If it were id expect the thread should be started and pinned by a mod laying out the rules in the first post so its not abused

BUY MY WIFE'S LEON CUPRA. 2001 (Y), FSH, 2 OWNERS, CAM BELT LAST YEAR, 64K, JUST SERVICED & MOT, 6 MONTHS TAX, BLUE ETC.

£MONEY

Just for context, this is not because im wanting to sell a car, but more because in some cases id be interested in buying

Hous, i thought spie was no longer involved

Considering the amount of times OcUK cars have swapped hands to other OcUK members, it would be pretty safe to assume that word gets out "somehow" anyway ;)

I've bought another member's car before.

Was thinking of a good way to word this...

There is no need really, the odd check my car thread goes by un-noticed, of course the intention is well known. ;)

If we opened it up to all, it would just be abused and you'd have people posting in motors who've never posted in here before just trying to sell a car, would attract traders/dodgy geezers. ;)

Most of us know each other and word gets out easily if someone is flogging a decent motor. :)

I can just imagine it now if its like MM.

'FOR SALE Ford Mondeo, £20k new yours for £19995'
'Mate seriously its the same as that new'
'OMG ITS MY THREAD'

5 months later...

'For sale Ford Mondeo £6k'
'Would you take £5995?'
'NO WAY M8 BUT WOULD GO TO £5998?
'Sorry... last offer is £5996'
'Not going that low, good luck with your purchase'

What's wrong with it apart from it not being to her taste?

It looked like a nice car in your thread. :(

I still think a single thread similar to the 'show us your motors' thread, where you post a quick picture and a link to PH/Autotrader etc is a nice idea.

Forgive my ignorance but what is MM?

Sorry not budgeted for £5998.

I've both sold (2) and bought (1) cars to/from other Mother's members. Word easilly gets to those who might be interested if you mix with a few people off-forum.

It's lovely I'd drive it but work want under 10 yrs and the lower the co2 the better that's why the e60 just squeezes in

Not without it's faults it needs some pdc work and a sensor on the rear pads but apart from that nothing

She hates it because its an auto that's about it, she loves the e60 maybe I should have hung around for a manual

People would post price drops like in the MM, it would create extra moderating too. Also what if a deal went bad? It's not tooooo bad in the MM when we have a problem to deal with, but when it's a car for a considerable amount of cash it could be a problem.
