I lose 3D if I go AMD, as my monitors have built in 3DVision 2 bud. It was 3D that got me back into gaming and I would hate to lose it but anything is possible.

Galaxy = KFA2 (offshoot of BFG iirc) so thats another brand to throw into the hat. I'd guess any Palit/Zotac etc... cards are likely to be branded as 'OCUK' if they make any :)

As for 3D, the upheaval to AMD3D I'd imagine would be a complete pain in the bum for you, sell 3 screens, finance 3 rather expensive 27" sammys etc...if 3D is what you love mate then do it.

Don't let all the bitter sounding "you're stupid for buying this card" comments put you off, most of those people are likely spitting the dummy out at something out of their financial means. Its the same every time a card in this price bracket pops up.

Come on, don't cheapen your posts. This is the sort of thing the Apple crew say when anyone dares criticise Apple products "you're just jealous that you can't afford it, if you could, you'd have one".

You learn something new every day and today I learned Galaxy is KFA2 :)

These VG278H monitors are sweet and 2D is awsome. They got rated far superior to the 3D on the Sammys but the Sammys won on 2D. I would rather stick with these monitors if I am honest but there is a PITA workaround to get 3D with AMD to work but it is very hit and miss but could be worth the risk.

None of the crap in this thread will put me off and the only person who will, is me. I see common sense (I don't use it though) and common sense is telling me to get a pair of 7950's and make do, but my patience is thin and I don't think I have 6 months waiting in me.

Bah....I am arguing with myself now. Thursday I will probably jump on the pre-order for Monday shipping/Tuesday delivery and be done with it. I can sit on one till I have more funds for the other :)

Anyone else getting one? or two? or 3 :eek:

Just watched that Stulid and I can't believe the baby is all over it... You can tell he didn't pay for it :p

I didn't mean it directly in that line, though looking back it may have come across that way.

It does hold a little truth though, I think we both know that. I'm not pointing fingers and I do just mean some people :)

If I (by I, I mean my mrs) didn't have better things to spend money on at the moment I'd snap a couple of these up.

Possibly getting 1 myself to get the most out of my 120Hz monitor, may end getting a 2nd 680 or possibly going for a 690. Prices and benches will decide it for me mostly - just never been keen on SLI with the scaling being hit and miss and micro-stutter (I want smoothness damnit, not jittery ***p!)

My SLI 680's were very smooth except for all those blasted 310.xx drivers. As soon as the 313.95's came out, it was perfect and SLI was a sinch.

That aside there's scaling/waiting for SLI profiles. I do think SLI has matured greatly and has done very well but it's just not there yet - but veeeeery close!

If I didn't have a couple of 690's I would buy one. Might even sell one yet and get one. Depends what mood im in when they go on sale.
