Hiya guys,
We'll as the title suggests really, i've got hold of another gigabyte 7970 :)
I realize that my cpu will be a huge bottleneck for the setup but i wanted to see how much before upgrading to an I5 platform this month.
I'll run a few benchmarks at stock clocks (1100/1500) and a few games.
Will be interesting to see just how much the cpu holds the cards back.
I'll post back with some benchmark scores shortly.

I wouldn't be suprised if it was bottlenecking your current 7970 already. I don't think the 4100 w/ 2 x 7970's will actually make any difference.

If you run the benches at extreme settings the bottleneck will not be as noticable.

Your no doubt right Doomspeed, really can't wait swap it out with a I5.

Thanks kaapstad,

Score 2960
70.7FPS

Think my cpu is definitely holding be back in Heaven when comparing my score to others.
Now to test so games.

Will do Kaapstad,
Just realized that in excitement to install the card, i didn't even think about putting the new psu in:eek:
I think that's pushing my Corsair CX600 a little to far!

In terms of performance yes but in money terms it may be worth getting a 8350 which is about 20% slower then the 3570, but you wont have to buy another motherboard.
Indeed it's this point that has halted my decision so far.
My cousin who's due home from the flaklands on the 6th, has also gone down the crossfire 7970 route but with a FX8350.
I think my best bet is to wait and look at how his system performs before buying.
Regardless i've removed the second card for the time being.

Can't really give a percentage of slower, as it's dependant on the GPU set up, and this isn't the norm GPU set up.
When you've got over 600 quid on GPU's, you don't want a compromise.

You'll have to wait until the case comes in stock and all the rest of the kit gets shipped next week. Then build it for me and compare the difference between your FX4100 and the 8350 with 1,2 & 3 way crossfire.

We'll push the memory clocks as high as we can when i'm back and try and match it to the GHz edition card for the 3 way crossfire.
