7850 oced vs 660 oced

Sorry OP,

B-grade items are returned items. They come with a 90 day OcUK warranty and whatever is left on the manufacturers warranty. If the card is a DSR'd item that means nearly all 3 years of its warranty is left.

However it might be b-grade because it could not hit a high overclock or something. Maybe it was louder than the buyer wanted it to be etc.

Edit: Yolo leave this place now! :p

I am not even sure how to check how long untill my warranty expires and how to check for defect though...

Hopefully everything is fine lol

^^ Points at Cybercows earlier post

"The 660 is faster so if the price is similar it is better vfm." - thats what you said.

They can't sell B-grade items if it doesnt work. So it will work fine it just might have a downfall like a not very well fitted cooler etc.
Best way to check the remaining warranty for me would be to ask OcUK customer service.

Thank you very much.

Thank you very much.

No worries ;)

One other thing with b-grade items is it might not come packaged in a box with the accessories or anything like a retail part :) Shouldn't be too much an issue provided you have DVI / HDMI etc cables already.

Not sure how you can support that most of 7850 hit 1200MHz, but in the same way I can say that for 660's 1100 is much more easier.

As for the 7870 not being much faster than a 7850 what do you mean? How far do you have to oc a 7850 to achieve similar performance to a stock 7870?

1050, 1100, 175, 1200, 1250, core speed with a reliable memory overclock, whatever the difference between a 1100 and 1200 its hardly noticeable in game unless you're gay and always play with fps counter.

The average overclock on a 7850 differs but in general 1050 is the absolute minimum ,1100-1150 the average, 1200+ is less common.
You have to clock a 7850 to almost 1100 to be near a stock 7870. Of course there is a 7850 pcb and a 7850 but using a 7870 pcb

I totally agree about the whole oc hype. If you cannot notice the difference without using a fps counter don't bother.
I also think that the average oc for 7850 is around 1100 and anything over 1200 is just asking for trouble as it will certainly involve increasing voltages.

Increasing voltages is no where near as detrimental as you obviously think. especially when the voltage is set pretty low at reference like the 7850 is.

depends on the company who have made the pcb, and if they provide good cooling on the vrms and power circuit and to how well the gpu scales with voltage vs freq vs heat
