I have recently sold six reasonable inexepensive RC related items.
The most valuable one was around £14 with postage.

I have posted them all first class, with no tracking.

So far I have only received postive feedback from one buyer, however I have not received any complaints either.

How many of the transactions will 'go well' ?

is not bad, most buyers, are honest. i am waiting replay from one guy, anything above £20 use track or record.

I usually do track everything.
Many of the items were only low in value, £3 - 5 by the time you pay postage, ebay fees, paypal fees it would have been easier just to have thrown them in the bin!

I do have 'proof of postage' but it's essentially worth nothing.

As for 'getting lost in the post' I have had scores of small items from various shops around the UK and China and so far nothing has ever gone missing.

I'm am interested to see how this goes.

Many UK shops do not track packages as it eats into already narrow profit margins. They 'trust' their customers.

Proof of postage is not proof of delivery so they can just say it's not turned up. But you can claim from royal fail which is a paid

Maybe thats why its called "proof of postage" and not "proof of delivery" or recorded delivery

Most do for items over a few quid.

Many uk shops do not offer free shipping anyway and the shipping costs when sent by royal mail are always above what they actually would cost

I have been using my eBay profits to craft a rather nice little RC helicopter.

The parts I have purchased have all arrived 'untracked'

I will post a picture, when it's complete.

Just because someone hasn't received feedback doesn't mean they will try mug you. I've sold plenty of items without getting feedback and it just means that the other person couldn't be bothered to fill it out. It's an optional feature, not a mandatory one.

I dont track cheap items. Save a bit of postage and it usually helps sell the item if the items postage is less. There is also nothing worse than having to mess about getting a really cheap item redelivered when you're not in and it has to be signed for.

The people not leaving feedback are probably just lazy and cba leaving it.

I recently sold about 12 DVDs and only received feedback for about half of them. So for cheap items like those, I think it's just a case of people can't be arsed.

No feedback = fine.

Complaints = bad.

I will be happy with no feedback.

Recorded is a waste of money on eBay. If they claim it did not arrive claim from the post office and get exactly the same amount of compensation as if you had posted it recorded.

Special adds additional compensation, but I only use recorded for sending letters to companies and I need to be 100% it has arrived.

When I used ebay I would get 1 in a hundred fail to turn up

My online shop I have never had 1 fail to turn up in over 7000 sales
Ebay is a scammers paradise

I have bought many things from business sellers which have not been tracked. This leads me to believe that contrary to popular opinion most Ebayers are honest.
