• Competitor rules

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

Geforce Titan rumours.

I'm not asking for censorship, or even saying that the moderation should change, just noting that some people act out and can't handle a difference of opinion.

Adult debating will always be fine. As long as you can backup opinion with some logical substance you don't need to worry. It's when people post inflammatory messages that don't help a discussion that we move into the realm of trolling.

I am thinking about going back to single GPU with the Titan. I've had enough of the poor SLI optimisation and the annoying micro stuttering when it occurs. I might say goodbye to my 2x670's:(

As I understand it, the GTX Titan launches tomorrow? Or is it just the benchmarks that launch tomorrow?

I have no doubt it will beat out 680 by a fair margin but the expected price seems to be a little too high.

As in, they are all very good reasons for why the price of Titan won't set a precedent for future high end GPU releases.

Like the "780" or "8970".

Yep, sorry. These Titans are hugley expensive and this is because of the yields (so I am lead to believe). I can't see AMD following suit and the same for the 780.

I think the 25th is the launch date. Benchmarks tomorrow.

Good to see you back :)

On the one hand it does seem rather expensive. I like the US prices a lot more. On the other hand, this has several features that only the Tesla has, so in a way it's cheap when you consider it's a slightly crippled $3000 tesla GPU... For gamers though, it is rather pricey, unless perhaps for triple monitor setups.

Thanks. :) Nothing like the sounds of a Titan to get the interest going again.

^^^ That probably isn't too far away from the truth, and it's all I've seen in the way of benchmarks so far. We're looking at not too far off a 50% bump in compute power and memory bandwidth, so 30-50% framerate improvement at high resolutions is about in line with that.

Unfortunately the almost complete lack of decent moderation in this forum makes the end results pretty inevitable... as long as people think they can hide behind the anonymity of the internet and get away with whatever purile gibberings and put downs on potential customers they think they can get away with in order to generate attention for themselves

which company am I most likely to buy from, the one whose forum has people discussing a new product with interest, or the one where 1 member is allowed to post page after page of childish insults targeted at anyone thinking of buying said product?

There isn't a complete lack of moderation, I happen to know a fair few infractions have been handed out at times, some people have lost access to this sub-forum because they aren't able to deal with opinion without resorting to personal abuse. Unfortunatly some of the trouble makers have become experts at skirting the line. If people use the RTM button it usually gets a response.

Yet page 51 still has a picture containing a homophobic slur.

Nice way to try and bring something back up. It wasn't homophobic at all, the mod said he'd read every post so I'm sure he'd of removed it if he deemed it unacceptable. If you wish I'll edit my post for you?

Only a minor issue @Tom's hardware but 2x7970 can be had for £600 or less now.

7970's are £299 here and take off £9 is you use quidco and then take off another £40 if you sell the games.

£250 each
£500 pair

well cheap :)
I'm getting one when I get my next get paid
