I'm looking have a person/company perform a build for me, both due to my lack of skills and available time to complete it to any sort of satisfactory level.

I've seen a few people on YT that do professional modding for but nothing in the UK as far as I can find to date. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Oh and just for reference, if any members of this forum would be interested in taking on a build (it would be next year) please feel free to provide me with some logs of your previous builds, especially showing ideas which you yourself have come up with. You would be working with a Mountain Mod's Ascension Extended case, which will have airbrushed artwork. Your job would be to come up with a theme based on my ideas, then construct the build after the artist has finished.

With thanks.

get Over Clockers to do it for you if you buy from them that is, they will build it and custom it for you, OC it as well if you want them to

So you mean build and cable manage? Or actually mod the case?

The entire thing will be water cooled, RAM and mainboard included so there is a good chunk of work there with what is likely to be for GPU's. There will also be four RAD's, 27 fans which need to be on controllers of some kind, again custom cabling.

Many of the design aspects will be up to this person, I will come up with the main theme and choose the main hardware. Beyond this the person/company will be given a wad of cash to complete the build with (plus payment for them).

Having attempted two builds previous to this, I know how time consuming there are and both times I have given up not even half way and made a mess of things.

Huh, never considered OcUK. I'll whip them an email and see what they say to using my case for the build if I buy the components from them. Thanks.

So I've spoken with OcUK and they are hesitant to take the project on with my own case on the off chance it was damaged or lost. I'm in the process of writing an email back to them now, and was just wondering if there are any insurance brokers who would cover something like this?; IE a high value computer case in transit, installation and transit again.

Any help once again greatly appreciated guys.

Don't royal mail and other courier services all do the insurance and the cost depends on the value of your item your sending?

Yes that is true, however to get £900 of insurance with RM or a Currier will cost me the earth, not to mention to cover something worth nearly £3k on the transit back. If possible I would like to find an insurance broker who can cover the case in both transit and it's time at OcUK for any damages, theft of loss.

Where are you based?

If your throwing this much cash at it then you might as well go down to the head office and sit with them throughout the build. Or just drop it off/pick it up if you don't have the time.

A guy on the forums (I forget who, but wasn't too long ago!) threw lots of cash at a build an spent the day (or more) at OcUK...

Be a good experience too.. Just a thought :)

Now that's an idea, I might just propose that to OcUK. Just noticed your edit, you beat me to it. I also remember a guy who was allowed down there to view his build in the making, it certainly looked to be an experience.

I'll keep that in mind fella thanks.

No worries! :) ! Let me know what the outcome is, id be interested to know as i'll be throwing many many monies at a build soon... right after my lottery win tonight!

Hey Kelog,
Do you have any logs on forums/websites that can be attributed directly to you please? This build I have planned will be in Q4 2013 or Q2 2014 depending how the UK harvest does this year (directly affects my wages).

Any info you can provide on your work would be fantastic, by any chance are you located close to Hull, East Yorkshire? (edit) Just looked at your profile and it says Kent, wouldn't be to hard to post this thing via pallet.

hi i havent really posted my build on the forums. i normally get started and by the time i tag onto the fact i am ment to be taking pictures its complete. But i am more than happy to get some of my past customers to get some pic's togther, any infomation that will help you and im sure they will be more than happy to talk to you about what i have done for them.

i do currently live in tonbridge kent but i have faimly how live in hull and newland so i can get my equiment and stay down there for a wile if that would make it easier for you.

Well, shipping costs would be around the £140 for there and back via a pallet Currier, about the same as train travel I should suspect not to mention living costs for yourself fella. Chances are I would ship the case and components to you for the build, as well as further funding to purchase any other materials needed for the build.

I would very much like to see some of your work if possible, it would help me to get a better idea if you're working to a fashion which fits my ideas....which can change a lot :D

As mentioned there is a lot of time until I even begin the initial plans for this build, and even once it does begin the artwork on the case often takes a few weeks to a month to complete halting any chances of starting a hardware install right there. Please don't feel any urgent pressure to scramble for pictures from your customers, the chances are you will have done more builds in the time leading up to mine so you're likely to get pictures from them anyway.

hi

like i which ever is best for you and thats fine i will email my customers tomorrow and get some pic and the orginal artwork/draws so you can get a idea of the style of work i do.

And i like the fact there is plenty of time i have had customers how have put about a day or two's though into a project and then come back a week latter wishing they had gone for a diffrent style or diffrent colour components. ieven had a customer how said he never played games on his rig it was just for emails and then after he told me he wanted to play metro grrrrr

Sounds the opposite of me, built my current rig to beast any game and after work I'm lucky to have the energy to put Netflix on :(

And yer you'll be seeing me trawling around these forums for ideas/inspiration from what others do. If I did hire you I would no doubt ask for a lot of ideas from yourself, when it comes to the aesthetics I tend to loose focus pretty fast (*Ohhhh an Ares II card.... :D). I would leave things such as color design of cabling and the like to yourself as you will very much likely have the skills to make things work together. I am hoping to get a good £2k together for the build, I have a lot of hardware I can use already such as two 7970's and a Rampage IV Extreme which saves a heck of a sum right there. Much of the cost will be on art work, the rest on water cooling and two more GPU's, then building costs for whomever does that task.

I'm not sure if this is against OcUK rules here so please feel free to "trust" me, what sort of prices are we talking for your work at a rough guess?
