*** Official NBA 2012/2013 season ***

LeBron will never have a slam dunk title though... :p :D

He has a point though but the problem I think with comparing LeBron or Kobe or any one to MJ is that he changed things drastically, the style of play, athleticism, technique and skill. It's hard to do that at the moment because the NBA is different partly down to MJ, and then there is what he did in the playoffs, coming back, the legends that have built around him and what he achieved. It's been 20 years since he won the first three and still today everyone says be 'like Mike' and I just don't see in another 20 years people saying be like Kobe or LeBron it'll still be about MJ. Even if LeBron gets more rings or Kobe gets another 1 or they have better stats in 'x' / 'y'... until some one comes along and changes everything like he did then it's just not really worth talking about.

Agree.

I don't think theres been anyone near touching MJ or making things look as easy as Bron does but I think he will fall short of MJ's heights. Kobe is just a *****, a good *****, but still a ***** and won't be talked about as top 5. :D

Not long to go now! I'm ****ing knackered, if this isn't better than last year I might just stop watching haha. Last year the shooting stars challenge was probably the best of the lot!

Here we go... strong crowd. This is laughable.

News today that Jerry Buss has passed away at the age of 80! :(

A really great owner, I don't really know much about him other than most of the Lakers players loved him. I think this could make Kobe and the Lakers very dangerous to play against now, I think this will be Kobe's fuel for the rest of the season.

Sad day for Laker fans, one of the greatest team owners in sports history.. let alone in the NBA.

Winning and doing it in the style with which they did it during the 80's and early 00's is what he'll be remembered by, spared nothing for the team. I guess it helps being in a major market, but then again look at the daft decisions the Knicks have made throughout the years. They play in the biggest media market in the US!

Unbelievable to think he bought the team for $60-80m and now the whole business is worth more than a $1 billion. Celtics may have an extra trophy to boast about, what the Lakers have is the glitz and glamour that comes with playing for the Lakers. The darling of the NBA, whether they suck as they do now or when they're winning.

Some good games tonight.

Lakers/Celtics
Thunder/Rockers
Knicks/Pacers
Heat/Hawks

Nice to see the season resuming and hopefully Heat can keep their form up over the next half dozen games which are against most of the East's "contenders"

Harden goes off for 46 against OKC! :D

down 14 with 7 to go and we get the win despite having traded away 4 players!

3rd straight loss for OKC, nice win for the Rockets, nice to see the Pacers smash the Nicks too :) Paul George was on fire. 2nd to 6th is scarily wide open, if it stays like this 3rd vs 6th and 4th vs 5th are gona be hard playoff series to watch. I think I'd want the Bulls to get Brooklyn or the Celtics, maybe the Hawks depending on what happens with Smith... still to early to talk playoffs but I'm really looking forward to them already :)

Bulls crushed. :p

Onward Heat roll, looking at their best these days.

They also got rid if Pittman last night. Rumours are freeing up space to pick up Oden.

Not gona get to dejected about last nights game, you played better than us, much better. Way to many turnovers. We need to push a trade through on someone asap for a PG starting spot and push Marco back in to the starting SG.

haha yeah i forgot the deadline had just passed, my bad. TBH we are sticking to the plan pretty well, as long as we can put in a good show during the playoffs and pick up Mirotic in the summer then il be happy.

To be fair I think the bigger worry for Heat playoffs is Pacers. Knicks are always dominated by Heat but Pacers with their Mickey Mouse bully boy tactics and a good George could be a real challenge.

I would like to think it a Spurs run this year but despite being a more a consistent team OKC see to edge a series.

Well the Spurs only win in odd numbered years so they are in with a shout :D

I'm mostly just concerned about protecting the 8th spot in the west - Lakers are 3.5 games back so with a minor slump they'd be all over the Rockets....

Bulls scored 13 points in two separate quarters on their way to a season-worst 67 points which came just eight days after their previous season-worst of 69. They’re currently 22nd in offensive efficiency!
